Brake Disc Rotation

Post by owenwelsh » Fri Jan 03, 2014 11:58 am

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to you.

Hope someone can help.....

I've had some work done to the car of late, new shocks etc.
I took the car to the local Quick Fit to have tyres fitted and they pointed out that the rear discs are rotating in the incorrect direction.
The rear offside hub arrow is pointing in the anti-clock direction.
I think I have a warped disc on the front and am now wondering if they have done the same to the front, but cant see any directional arrows on this......

Thanks,

Dave

Rears are directional, fronts are both the same

On offence, but I wouldn't trust quick fit to open a can of beans. A few years back I took my car in, told their 'brake specialist' (he even had it written on his back) that the car was juddering under braking…. He tested it and told me that the rear piston (drum brake) was leaking….. "would that cause the from to judder?" asks me, "well it could do" says the specialist…. "can you check the front again please"….. "Oh yeah, looks they are warped" said the monkey after looking again….. Que me driving off stage left.

Idiots.

I appreciate what your saying mate, but I'm not one to generalise.
Fair play to the lad for recognising the discs were rotating the wrong way and making me aware.

Sorry but I'm with Stairs re QuikFit - the few times I've been there they've either done the job so badly I've had to have it redone elsewhere, or they've tried to tell me that something needs replacing that doesn't. They'll never see another £0.01 of my hard earned cash again.

Me too re QF my daughter took her car into them in Broxburn three or four years ago as she was worried about a tyre before she was going to come up to us for her hols, they told her that she needed four new tyres, she phoned me and I told her to check them as I was on the phone. Going by what she said I told her to drive the couple of hundred miles and I would check them when she got here. Guess what, the tyres were only half worn, needless to say she has not been back to QF since !!
