TPMS Fault - Antenna for Tire Pressure Monitoring Rear

Happy Holidays,

My TPMS is showing a fault, both the warning light and the "TPMS" fault in the HUD. I just activated TPMS using VAG-COM and installed wheel sensors as I didn't have them before. The sensors are not OEM. I have run the "Wheel Change" and "tyre pressure" procedures. I still had the warning lights.

Then I ran VAG-COM, I will display the result of after I installed and setup wheel sensors, and the before I installed wheel sensor so you can see the difference. It looks like some are working, but there is an issue with the rear sensors. Here are the results:

I'm going to adjust the pressures on the tires to 41 Front and 38 Rear from 36 Front and 33 Rear when I ran the test. I will see if that solves the first error - lower limit exceeded.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The coding ending in 2523 means that the expected tyre pressures are 2.5 bar front and 2.3 bar rear, see http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... Monitoring

If it is the antenna it is very easy to replace.

Any tips on replacing that rear antenna?

Gently prise out the honeycomb panel from the rear bumper with a screwdriver. A Silver clip will drop out but so far no-one knows where it goes and it doesn't appear to be needed. Once you have the panel out you will see the antenna clipped into a bracket on the offside. Unplug it and remove it, stick new one in an plug it in. Replace panel ensuring all lugs are clipped back into place. Job done in 10 mins.

Awesome, thanks.

CaptainLF...
Did increasing the pressure in tires do the trick for the 01521 fault code? The reason I'm asking is because you might have been below the threshold in the rear ones.

I want to try understand and compile data for a TPMS system 'how to' as the system attracts a lot of questions with often vague answers.

Can anyone who has VCDS and what they think to be an Ariel problem do the following:

1) In VCDS, select control module.
2) Enter 65 into the direct entry at the bottom left.
3) Select Adv Measuring Values.
4) In fly out box scroll down to Control Antenna Level and tick the box.
5) In fly out box tick Offset Antenna Level which is below the above.
6) Report back here what values you get.

I have a working system and my values are:

Control Antenna Level - varies between 0.08v - 0.16v
Offset Antenna Level - 2.08v

I think my rear antenna has just packed up, so here are the values on mine currently :

Central - 0.000V
Offset - 1.000V

Anyone know where I can get a replacement antenna from? Is an Audi parts dept my best bet?

So I went to change the rear antenna and I discovered that the wire harness for the antenna appears to be damaged. Has anyone seen this issue. I'm assuming I will need to replace the wire harness.

On another note, I haven't hooked up my Vagcom yet to see if the tire pressure fault 01521 has cleared.
