Re: Tpms sensors
I have the same thing so disabled them via VCDS. Doesn't fit though and not sure if the batteries are just gone or going as they are only good for 5/6 years apparently. User Yanos also had the red warning too and found a decent price full set on eBay that we could maybe hit up for a discount and 'gift' postage on
I totally need to diagnose what caused mine to throw up the error let me know if you get a definitive answer on yours.

Re: Tpms sensors
Funnily enough my ones stopped working last month as well! Big red flat tyre warning sign flagged up every time I started the car.
Turned the TPMS off for now but noticed none of my sensors are reading back any data so suspect the aerial behind the rear bumper might be faulty. Either that or it is the controller module itself.
Might take the car for a run tomorrow to see if the sensors 'wake up' and log any data they might read back (apparently, they go to sleep when the car is not moving).
Pretty sure 433mhz are the ones we need for the RS4. The items on ebay are aftermarket versions but no reason why they would not work.
Having said that, if I ever have to replace my ones I will be sticking with the Beru 007 ones for peace of mind.

Re: Tpms sensors
Ah! Good shout Martin, my sensors returned no data either when I coded them off so aerial is well worth looking at. Think it's interesting that a bunch if TPMS all failed around the same time / change in weather.

Bulk buying time?

Re: Tpms sensors
Might be an idea, I want to try a new/working aerial first though to see what battery life is left on the sensors I have.
I wonder if we park close enough to you Yanos, we could check our sensors are actually still working from your car using VCDS?
Pretty sure the TPMS module can display data from more than 4 sensors.

Re: Tpms sensors
That's what me and Ian had already planned on doing, checking the aerials first, so a group exercise would be better then we could compare. It sounds like a plan! The cable is Ian's but I have a loan of it at the moment.coffey555 wrote:Might be an idea, I want to try a new/working aerial first though to see what battery life is left on the sensors I have.

It seems a little too convenient that they have all gone tits up at the same time!
I spoke to one of the suppliers in the states and they said they were up for a deal if we got enough of us together but lets rule out aerials first.

Re: Tpms sensors
Sounds like a good excuse to meet up sometime soon then! I also have a Ross-Tech cable so I will bring that and a laptop along as well so we can check more than one car at a time.
Any preference on a day? I am away on the 5th.

Re: Tpms sensors
Jah its crap but not much can be done.
Ian do you want the cable back so you guys can do it sooner if you dont want to wait?
Marty how long are you away for?
Once we can rule out the aerials then we can get numbers for a bulk order of the TPMS's

Re: Tpms sensors
Condolences about your gran mate and hope you get over your man flu soon.
Well I drove to Audi Perth today as they had an aerial in stock. Fitted it, enabled the TPMS again and told the car I had done a wheel change so it could pick up the sensors again if need be. 15 mins later yellow flat tyre symbol appeared again! Tried to update the low setpoints by updating the tyre pressures but they don't change which would seem to indicate there is still no comms between the pressure sensors and the TPMS module.
So unless all 4 tyre sensors have failed at the same time it looks like the controller unit has failed.
Can meet up one night if one of you guys wants to try the new aerial on their car? I am away until late December.
Seems a bit odd that three cars within 10 miles of each other all developed the same fault at roughly the same time!
