Ride height

Hi guys, had the K/W lowering springs fitted yesterday, car looks the nuts but it's scraping while turning with any 'fastish' speed and any bump of size rubs - it seems to be coming from the arch liner screw mainly. I had 64cm at the back and 65cm at the front, standard wheels and 8mm and 10mm spacers. I know this is what Gavla is running, is anyone else got similar, would welcome others feedback

What size tyres are you running fella(275/255) as I would be surprised if your getting any issues with 255s..I am running 265s with kws and I get a slight rubbing when three in the back..

Just 255/35 19s mate, the back seems ok but the front seems to scrape on the arch lining screw? Have you got the same ride height?

Was gonna pop back to AMD this arvo as I'm quite near today at a customer meeting

I am 65cm at the front as well but running 30s with 8 mm spacers...maybe worth getting it raised 5 mm as after a few months it will settle a bit..or see if they can do anything with the screw if that is all that is causing the issue?

Removing the arch liner screw would be first on the list for me

Hi Toyneg,

I had the arch liner screw removed as it will rub with it. In fact running H&R 8/10 with it lowered does accentuate the possibility of it rubbing - mainly though it only appeared for me on very rough road conditions. However I recently sold my spacers as my driveway has a steep incline and it started to rub every time when I went in at an angle. ;-(

I think Noyjatat runs 5mm shims at the front - thinking of putting them on as I do miss the look it gives.

Cheers Gavla, I'm getting them to raise it 5mm and take out the screw, ill test how that feels. I didn't know you could get 5mm spacers, I'll ask Gaz about that

Cool - it will make a difference. I believe 8mm is the lowest hubcentrics that H&R manufacture? Anything lower than this then I believe it has to be a shim. Unless anyone else knows of an alternative?

I'd have just removed the screw first. That could have solved your problem without having to raise the height. I'm surprised whoever fitted the springs didn't take it out for you. I forgot to mention it to unit20 but they did it anyway.

I took some more of mine at the weekend now that the front has settled a bit more. Just need to edit out my number plate then I'll post them up somewhere.

Glad it's all sorted fella..the good thing is if your not happy with it,you know you have the scope to go lower..
