Clicking Noise when turning left.......

Hi all, new to the forum and a new B7 RS4 owner as of Friday last week!

Picked the car just north or Birmingham and drove back to Aberdeen. Just yesterday, I noticed a clicking noise coming from what seems like the front drivers side wheel when turning left. I has an R35 GTR previously and this did something similar (could be totally un-related) but it needed the hubs, brakes etc cleaned and then copper grease put on the interfaces with the wheels/hubs.

Anyone had something similar or know the cause?

Chris

if it is at low speed ie when turning out of the drive then that could be the DRC so would get it checked quickly if it has any warranty on it

It's unlikely DRC would make a clicking noise. In my experience it's more a suspension based knocking. A 'clicking' would infer a more regular repeated noise, and more likely to be wheel rotation based. I'd guess at wheel bearing or hub as this would also increase in load whilst turning

Yes, it's a clicking as opposed to clunking! It's rotation based as in it sounds like once per rev if that makes sense! It does it on turning left, but not right.

Any Audi specialists in Aberdeen worth going to other than Audi main dealer?

It does have warranty so want to get it checked asap.

My vote would be CV joint too, I had the same problem in my A3, it did it under load when turning

Chris - you could try Aberdeen Volks Centre in Kingswells. They were very good when I had my S4. I've used them a couple of time recently for my RS4 but its just been for straightforward servicing and MOT.

How did you get on with this? Because I have the exact same thing going on with mine, I've ordered a new CV boot for the passenger side as it's split. But why the clicking noise from the driver side?
