Audi Health Check

Post by Cecilthesausage » Sun Aug 25, 2013 5:55 pm

Took the car in for a Health Check and my persistence with the trader about leaking DRC has been confirmed.... I have 2 leaking front dampers and a snapped rear spring.... So I go back offshore on Tuesday and my car is getting left with the garage to get this sorted.... I stressed to him when I bought the car about leaking DRC would be a show stopper and he insured me that it wasn't leaking... It was just a bit of corrosion on the damper... I also found a health check from Nov 12 which mentioned 2 front leaking dampers which he obviously never seen otherwise he wouldn't have left it in the car.... That was the main reason I put it into Teeside Audi.... So he hasn't really got a leg to stand on...

Hard luck, at least you've had it confirmed. Do you intend to claim for it through the trader then?

What other items are covered in Audi's health check?

Yes I stressed to him about the DRC when I bought the car and he assured me that it was all ok.... When really it wasn't.... He was a bit miffed when I showed him the previous health check report that he obviously hasn't seen in the folder... So in my eyes he has mis sold me the car.... So he either sorts it out or gives me my money back.... But by law they have to be given the chance to sort the problem out... As for the Health Check I'm not quite sure what they check... Just mostly visual I think, mine flagged up 2 dampers, broken spring, pollen filter, aircon regas, slight binding on one of the calipers and one of my tyres will need changing shortly.... Took about an hour and a half and they washed it and hoovered it out as well... Plus it was free...

with all that kit to be replaced - at the Traders expense - it may way take out all his profit on the deal and therefore have him push to give you the refund

I think I seen you coming down from the roundabout near Mandale triangle... Seen you on the bypass a few times as well...
