RS4 owners near Gloucestershire?

Hi all

I've been looking for an RS4 Avant for a couple of months now. Driven one slightly tatty example which displayed huge underlying talent but felt like it had some issues (visual inspection suggested the exhaust flaps weren't operating, and there may also have been issues with coking and / or vacuum leak, as it didn't feel as quick as I expected it to, and sounded very refined and quiet under load too).

I have struggled to find much else which fits my ideal spec of sprint blue (preferably), red or black, under 80,000 miles with the RS4 bucket seats.

I would be hugely grateful if there were any forum members nearby who would be happy to take me out in their pride & joy so I can see what a "proper" RS4 should be like. This would make it a lot easier to know what I should be looking for from the limited examples out there [I've put a "wanted" post in the classified section].

I'm based in Cheltenham but happy to travel if anyone can help out.

Many thanks

Ben

Fella, the rs4 does not feel quick but it is ...maybe you should be looking for a turbo lag motor....with the rs4 you should only feel a slight kick at 5500 rpm..not saying that the one you looked at may have had issues, but remember this is a na v8....

Understood. It was certainly easy to make very rapid progress despite how it felt.

I have never owned a turobcharged car though - the delivery was nonethless very different from what I have been used to ... which to be fair have been during the last few years a) probably BMW's finest 6 cylinder of recent times and b) a screaming Italian V8.

Perhaps my expectations are overly coloured by recent experience, but I was a bit underwhelemed in the engine department and thought it was probably down to the example I drove.

Although my B7's now gone for a B8, I'm just up the road in Swindon if you find a localish car that you need a second opinion on
Give me a shout

Thanks for the offers - seen a black one in good condition today so I feel I have a better idea what I'm looking at now :-)

I should've said before, but if you want to see a truly mechanically perfect example, then my old B7 avant is for sale in Bath Audi. It had an engine top end rebuild ip under warranty around 10k ago, so no carbon build up and makes 409
If nothing else, then it'd be a good yard stick to measure others by

It's CA56 GNO black avant

I missed out on the black RS4 at Bath when it "sold" a couple of weeks ago (now back on the market). Turns out it was a blessing in diguise as I've just brought a Sprint Blue example (my original preferance) back from Scotland!
