Hey Guys just joined the forum and am hoping you bunch of Petrol Heads can help a fellow Petrol Head :blackrs4:

I have circa 20k to unload and am seriously considering a B7 RS4. However my 18 year old son last night said that he thought I could do better and should consider other cars as well as a 4 door car is a bit "old manish" He sent through a few options, CL55 AMG, M3, Jag V8s etc etc but having owned an S5 back in 2008 I love the Audi brand and although the RS4 is 4 door, having driven one with a Miltek exhaust I loved it and it felt "familiar! :kissmyrings:

So guys honest opinions would be appreciated to add to my thoughts!!

Thanks

RS4 a bit "old man-ish"?? CL55 AMG and Jag practically come with a bus pass and slippers!

Personally, I'd have an M3 out of those options :)

What does an 18 yr old know about performance car driving?

I remember at 18 I knew everything only to find out some years later I was mistaken.

The RS4 will give you performance, practicality, style and a huge smile

Find a good one from someone on the forum and enjoy

And welcome by the way

LOL your so right mate....He's a chip off the old block and his fathers son!!!! I loved the first reply about the Merc & Jags having slippers and a bus pass supplied ROTFPMSL

So Ive located a few and driven 2. Both from dealers and nothing like the condition they were described, but it allowed me to drive and start to compare.

The 2 I am looking at are @ the links below. Again honest and open opinions would be appreciated

And it's that balance that an 18 year old won't understand.

I've owned many cars over the last 37 years from shopping trollies (Renault 6) through hot hatches (Renault 5 GT Turbo) and AUdi S4's - but NONE of them makes me smile as much as my RS4 does every time I drive it (and it's the only car I've owned for 7 years).

Listen to no one but yourself. However I have found that my head tells me to do this(sensible) my heart tells me something else :FIREdevil: (enjoy myself and be damned).hope that helps buy a good RS4.

Im going up to view another RS4 tomorrow :kissmyrings: :jump_clap: :kissmyrings:

And an 18 year old knows what an RS4 drives like?!

I'd of killed for an RS4 when I was 18 - unfortunately I had to settle for an RS Turbo!

What was comparable to and RS4 back in 1995? Cossie or a Lotus Carton I suppose!

Cossie, Carlton was RS6 and could probably still give one a hard time in a drag.
