Problems fitting Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2

Hi

After reading various comments on the forum I placed an order at the weekend with Black Circles for 4 of the above.

I have just received a call from their customer service department saying that they had another client fit 4 of these last week and they were rubbing on the inside of the tyre due to the rim protection and were therefore not suitable. Has anyone experienced or heard of this issue?

I currently have P Zeros (not impressed) but they are recommending I go with an OE tyre such as the Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Given the feedback about the F1's I was really looking forward to getting them so now I am a bit confused. The MOT is due at the end of the week so don't have long to get this sorted.

Look forward to some input on this.

Well I'm running Assymetric 2's on the front with no rubbing issues. Rear's will need changing soon so I'll be swapping from the current Assymetric 1's to the 2's.

My F1's don't rub at all. I do have spacers however.

Are there more than one type/version. Maybe with/without protection profile ??

Im running GY AS2 on SS+ suspension with no rubbing issues.

All i can guess is that the owner black circles had was running lowered suspension and spacers.

Or they went with 275's

Not heard of any issues with standard size tyres rubbing with OEM suspension (SS+ and Non SS+) and no spacers

I had no trouble with mine. I assumed they were Assym2's, I can check them when I get home. Never heard of any rubbing issues before, not just with this brand but any brand in the OEM size. I'd say there was something wrong with the guys car or there was some mis-information somewhere along the line.

Thanks folks

I will proceed with the order. Am I right in saying they would only rub on full lock anyway? If yes then I guess that can be avoided if there is an issue.

I checked on the Audi Uk website on their tyre selector service and even that offers the Goodyear so I guess they are ok. Only difference is that they want £284 a tyre compared to the £192 (fitted) I got from Black Circles.

Roll on Friday...
