Well I have finally got my rs4 after near 3 weeks of waiting and im chuffed to bits, although totally different to what im used to(400 horse p1)! The KW v3 coilovers on it are some use to the rock hard BCs I had on the p1!

I do have a couple of issues with it though.

I have noticed that the revs do not drop very quickly when you take your foot off the throttle, this happens whether driving or stationary.

The idle seems to be quite high when you first come to a standstill or still rolling slightly then they drop down to normal, when at normal idle revs it does not idle smoothly, it hunts up and down very slightly.

When giving it the beans there seems to be a very slight vibration through the car which seems to stop when you take the foot off the throttle.

I have run the VCDS on her and after resetting all the historic codes it has come back with the clutch switch and knock sensor so I will replace these. Any ideas on what could be causing my other issues? Thanks

Clutch switch is almost certainly causing the hunting revs - £15 / 15 minute fix and should make a big difference. See how it feels after that.

The funny idle could be dirty/faulty MAF. Give it a good clean with some CRC MAF cleaner from ebay. Worth doing anyway and it will eliminate something in the fault-finding.

I had same issue with the revs;

have changed the clutch switch - made no difference (so in my case obviously wasn't that)

cleaned the MAF sensor like Tony said with the product Tony used, seemed to improve the idling /seeking for a while but has gone back to being crap. Am going to try a new MAF sensor when I get a chance. Interestingly I spoke to Doug at MRC while the car was in having everything else replaced / cleaned and he mentioned that depending on the MAF cleaner you use, if there is any residue left on the sensor when it goes through a heat cylcle or something it can burn the residue on therefore in fact making things worse. possibly what happened to mine - who knows but definitely still not right

its a real pain as it makes you think you are going to stall it and makes for (sometimes) what looks like "learner driver" pull aways due to the dropping revs then overcompensating to catch it before you stall it..
