Off to the ring in a few weeks!

I am off to the ring in a couple of weeks! I am not sure what to do about my tyres! They are just above the legal limit!
I was thinking drive there on these Tyers and do the ring! Then try and get some new ones to come back home with.
Has anyone done the same and know if the prices are about the same over there!
Just received my new discs! I was thinking about drilling the holes out a little bigger so they don't collect dust! How much bigger would would be recommended.
Thanks for your help!

Nice one, have fun.
How many laps are you planning? I reckon you will be ok to drive back on the same tyres, keep OEM tyre pressures.
Personally I would not drill the holes, unless you can bevel the edges, otherwise the sharp edges may grate the pads more and create the warping.
What pads are you using?

They seem a little cheaper over here (Germany) but check your ok to pay with uk bank card, ive had the odd situation were they will only accept an EC card and seem to think a debit card with visa is a credit card don't accept them.

If it's your first time at the ring you won't need uprated anything, save your money and get a lap with an instructor. Best thing is to do a lap then come in and let everything cool down, get your head round it and then go out again, 2 laps in a row at a push.
If you haven't been before nothing will prepare you for the traffic and the local people passing you and the gradients and cambers that you never get to see on the computer games. It's awesome though, have a great time, wish I was going !

Thats right, but they wont last more than a few laps where as the uprated stuff will go a lot further.
