I have no slip
No judder
Fine driving round town at low speed
However when trying to change above 5 or 6000rpm it simply is very reluctant and baulks, the clutch isnt dis engaging or releasing properly, ive had the return pipe changed but same......problem seems hydraulic rather than the clutch itself.Ive read that a duff 10 quid bush on the release bearing can give issue and was modified by audi? Box out to investigate though....
Any personal experiance would be appreciated

My clutch pedal started sticking down halfway through its travel just after I first got the car. It only did it when the car was driven hard though. Return pipe changed by Audi with no improvement. I was away when the initial warranty expired so ended up changing the master and slave clutch cylinders. It was a gearbox out job so thought I may as well change the clutch and flywheel at the same time whilst I was at it as the car had done 93,000.
You might to have to drill out the exhaust manifold bolts as my ones fell apart

My clutch failed after only 14K miles. Biting point was low and was getting more and more difficult to engage lower gears. Had to pay for the new clutch and flywheel, even though I complained about burning clutch smell several times from new. No such problem since with new clutch.

I found it super difficult to get it into first and reverse, no slipping and quite normal when on the go. Changed the return pipe, clutch plate, pressure plate, release bearing and all the bolts, its bang on now, after €2500 all in, not a cheap fix if the clutch needs replaced I'm afraid!

This seems to be an issue on earlier cars. My first B7 RS (2006 reg) went through TWO in a few thousand miles (starting from delivery miles). All covered under warranty with barely a blink of an eyelid from Audi UK (even though the dealer tried the usual "you must be driving your car very aggressively" BS). I told them to sort it or I'd be leaving it on their forecourt. Symptoms: the usual sticking clutch pedal (vacuum thingy I assume) and boiling fluid (again, I assume, based on what I've read here). Smelly. My second (2007, bought last year) has been a gem - no issues whatsoever. That said, I nearly always short-shift as I often find it too much of a faff to concentrate on shifting to match revs with these cars - it's like you've got to be on your game at all times and that can get a bit tiresome IMO. Sorry, lots of waffle, not much help...

When mine went i had no slippage - only sign was cluthc not returning during hard driving. Was fine when driving normally.
The issue started getting worse - had return pipe replaced - didnt fix so had the clutch and flywheel done.
When they openend it up the flywheel was knackered as was the sprocket bearing. Clutch plate was down to around 15% wear left.
Car had done 60k miles 56 Plate.
Been fine since.
Does sound like you have similar issues to what i had.
To keep the cost down i would recommend sourcing the flywheel yourself from APS and the cluthc from Eurocar parts - think i paid £152 for the clutch kit and £775 for for the flywheel - total Cost inc the return pipe was £1710
As others have mentioned you may need new Manifold studs as they tend to seaze and need to be drilled out

Mine went on lap 25 braking into the hairpin at donnington. No warning, no noises, pedal went to the floor and wouldn't come back up. Full replacement £2k!

My clutch failed when racing a CLS500 at 67k. I had to have flywheel replaced as well bringing the total cost to £2.1K. No sign of clutch slipping or not engaging before racing the CLS500.

Feck my life I've just bought a 06 that's done 46k I'm getting a smelly clutch smell when I've driven it hard and it's shudders in second is that clutch or something more dubious?
