The next day was just not meant to be! got up and organised the day and all planned to leave for the fuel station or so i thought but when we got there half the people carried on the journey and i wish i had to as i didnt even need fuel but decided to wait...

But i guess road trip wouldnt be completed without a fine of some sort! Sadly it wasnt a speeding fine though!

Started off thursday morning and left for 8:30 in convoy to the fuel station a couple of kilometres down the road as people needed to fill up! As were waiting one of the lads did a pretty sick donut in his 200 sx on some poor guys business forecourt!

Needless to say the guy wasnt happy and got straight on the phone to the police which little did we know was 2 mins down the road! In the mean time the drift car dissappears police pull up and take a couple of us to the station for number plates to which a few others followed! Beleive 6 cars in total!

Get there getting nowhere because of the language barrier to explain to be greated by our €90 fines! To which I can only think to be the main man of the station gets woken up and is savage and starts going tits! Then goes outside to the other cars aswell as the 2 that were pulled and proceed to rip off all number plates that were not fixed with riviets and confiscate the keys also! And we are theb told none of the cars are being released and we would have to fly home!

Things cooled down and a deal was made we would go to a garage over the road and get bits needed to afix them how he wished and show him that it was done along with getting the drift lad to give himself in and we would be let free!

So we proceed to drill bumpers that have never been drilled from factory for plates includibg a ferrari and a nissan grt and a dodge ram.

Fair play to the lad in the drift car he came back and we were set free after over 3 hours grilling in the station and fines totalling upto €600!

In total i did £700 in fuel, £140 in toll roads, 2459 miles, 2 tyres, MAF sensor failed but car still ran perfectly and got me home. I will be booking up again next year and if this is your sort of think i would suggest you do also as it was amazing and the car loved every minute.

Sounds amazing Ben.

Did you end up having to use low octane fuel a lot?

Awesome - looks like a cool trip!

The incident with the rozzers didn't sound much fun tho :(

There's something about encounters with foreign police... Think it's the sidearms lol !

Yeah it really was good and i recommend it to anyone if you love driving nice roads!

Never once used low octane fuel they had 98 everywhere we went and 1 place had one over 100 octane i think it was 102 im guessing they have seen its popular place for tourists and see they will sell it so most places stock it now!

WillRS-

No it wasn't much fun i must admit and if it wasn't for the drifting i doubt i would of encountered any! when we first hit the shore France were covered in police waiting for us though they were prepared and there were speed traps everywhere! and when you cant talk and explain the situation because they don't understand its not fun especially when they say your going home by plane and they are going to keep your car lol! But we can laugh about it now!

Looks like an awesome time - apart from the Gendarmes incident but most trips have those moments, nice video, lovely bit of road that Stelvio Pass bit tight in some spots and overtaking the locals looked frustrating as they seem to like driving in the middle of the road ;-)

The car looks awesome ;-) Nice one.

bloody ridiculous about the licence plates as we can see the could not remove the ones with out screws with out braking them but if you run with numptys that do donuts in a public area what can i say i would have avoided that guy

the scenery looks stunning looks like you had great weather for the run too

Looks like a great trip buddy and I bet you had a great time. Looking at the pics the weather seemed to hold off for you.

So what's next with the car after two new tyres and some diagnostics on the MAF?
