Anyone running stock exhaust, no precat or silencer?

Stuck trying decide which exhaust route to go down. Been in a non res milltek, will be sorting out a Tubi ride. Was wondering if anyone has gone down the precat removal and stock silencers removed on a stock exhaust?

Any information (i.e. bhp figures) or videos would be much appreciated.

Gareth

It's funny, I'm in exactly the same position regarding exhausts and wondered the same about just gutting the precats. I've disconnected the valves for now and that makes quite an improvement.

I'm running stock but with precats gutted (gutted myself, couple of hours labour to refit) and centre resonators replaced with custom x-pipe.

It's a bit too raw/loud for me now tbh! I kinda prefer stealth. Have now got hold of a complete stock catback so thinking about going back to stock resonators.

Wondering if there has been any comparisons between a stock and milltek system with the same set up, precat and silencers removed to see if it really is worth the extra money to change.

Rick you going for the JHM 2.75 or getting a custom job?

You kept the silencers then Sonny? Any video links?

I can't see how a non-res milltek cat back can sound/perform that much different from a stock catback with no resonators. I suppose Milltek back boxes might be louder, but the rest is the same diameter tubing and, from what I can tell, is almost identical path shape.

My thoughts exactly Tony, although everyone seems to have gone down the exhaust change route. Trying to find someone who kept with stock and just did the changes is difficult.

The sound is between night and day, make no mistake. Milltek is great but the drone can brake any normal man.

Terry was kind enough to take me out in his Tubi fitted B7 and oh my word! Was just perfect for what I want. A massive thanks to Terry for taking the time and now have to re think the changes I was going to make next month at MRC and do some sums. I need that sound in my life!

Do you know which Tubi backbox Terry has Gareth? And is the rest of his exhaust stock or aftermarket?
