Hi All.

some of you may of seen me dotted around the forum as a trader and I did LED interior kits for the C5 and C6 RS6, I have been working with car lighting now for 3 years but I don't just buy in and sell, I like to get my hands dirty and work out solutions for different types of cars, I am all over the audi sport forum if you wanted to see some more posts about the kits.

This thread I have started as I have seen a lot of members want LED DRL's but cant get rid of an error, it cant be coded out either like some Audi's I have worked on.

I tried a few different things even going down the route of a resistor which gets upto 100 degrees hot, not good in terms of mounting.

I asked my supplier who I have used for 3 years now what he had for a 1156 - P21W bulb, all he cam back to me with was a canceller so I tried this, it worked in a 56 RS4 without an error but it would not fit through the gap in the light and hold in place due to the different holders to the OEM ones, after some modding I got it to fit in securely.

so here it it


The kit above is £35 posted, that's for a 9w CREE LED bulb in 5000k colour to match the xenon's, and a pair of cancellers modded to fit the headlight.

If you Have LED's already in your car and just want to buy the modded cancellers then they are £17 posed to the UK or NI. can post anywhere in the world as long as shipping is paid for.

There are 3 members on this forum that has had them for over a month or two now and they have had no problems as of yet.

i only have a few pairs until delivery this month tho.!

I have designed this so its plug and play for you. As I don't have an RS4 I cant get pics on how to fit but they are a direct swap out, ive modded the lugs on the canceller so it all fits in, The tools you need are your hands.

I'm still trying to figure it out. There is a bulb end that must be connected in place of the standard bulb and then left outside of the bulb housing along with the cancelling unit. Then the grey bit plugs the now vacant gap in the headlight unit with the LED bulb on the inside. Is that correct? So I'd need to secure the cancelling unit and original bulb holder somewhere outside of the actual headlight unit? The bit that throws me is that you said you modified the terminals so it sounds like I have to put the cancelling unit inside the headlight unit too?
And didn't you recommend to me some non-LED (possibly PIAA) bulbs that give a very white light and no errors?

the canceller unit (black Box) will sit inside your headlight that's right, they get no hotter than the heat that's already in your headlight so its fine, on the ASN forum there are 2 members that have been running this setup on there A4's since Jan and no report back of any drama's, before I offered this out I have had them tested in cars that customers want to try out for me.

I have modified the Grey connectors so they fit into the Holder where the stock holder used to sit, they fit in there securely without falling out, they are a off the shelf product but I have had to modify them to work in the Audi headlight.

I think the bulbs I showed or explained about were the ones in the picture, they look like an OEM bulb but is actually 1 LED, I am getting some different bulbs in which use a CREE LED also, just with more in.

If this is the same bulb supplied for my reverse lights then it is really bright, better than those 'stack' type bulbs. Great service and help from Trups too.
They will look great on the RS4.

Yes they are the same Chunk, They are really the only type i now stock in 1156 fitment.

They are the Same LED's used in the Audi DRL running lights.

Thanks Trups. I don't like the sound of the cancelling unit banging around inside my headlight. Also, won't it be visible from the front of the car. If it worked as I thought (with the original lamp holder and cancelling unit outside the headlight connected to the new grey bit that plugs the hole in the headlight) then I'd be interested.
