Interior retrim

Post by Noyjatat » Sat Mar 30, 2013 4:40 pm

So currently away in a dusty place and decided before leaving that the bucket seats were beginning to look a little shabby. Got back in touch with the guys who I got the car from and they put me through to their bespoke contact for interiors. Happy to say I just got an e-mail of the now returned car : )

I have really liked the new S5's black and white options and after much deliberation decided which parts of the seats would best suit which colour. I know its not for all and I am now looking into giving it a treatment to give them a bit more longevity (and taking classes on how to levitate) but I am happy with how they have turned out and figured I would share the images with the forum for better or worse in case others were thinking about going down the same path.

I still have to get the backs of the seats wrapped in a gloss black wrap to finish the overall effect and the car should be in for that next month.

A big thanks to all the guys on here who continue to inspire putting together threads and images of their own projects and changes, couple of examples since I have joined being Mikefish, 22B, Jules and Youngben and more recently marzz and lots of others.

Regards Gareth

That does look really nice, I've got 2 kids and that would get ruined in white, but it looks like it's been done really well, good job bet your well pleased, if you don't mind me asking what's the damage on getting them done?

Very nice indeed. Very classy and OEM looking IMO.

Well done!

I haven't got the final figure yet but the original quote was somewhere between £1700 and £2000 depending on the cost of having the embossing tool made up for the headrests RS4 logo. I am very pleased just gutted I won't see it in the flesh for another two months :)

Looks amazing - white wouldn't last for me but echoing comments - its looks like an excellent job - worst thing about the RS4 was the wearing buckets so be nice to have them as new again.

+1

Nice colour and looks really well done! The only suggestion I'd make is that if you are doing the seat backs in glass black, then you should do the same with the interior trim bits that are currently alu like the door trims, ashtrays covers etc. Wasn't that one of the OEM options? Could probably buy a set I that colour already.

Mikefish has got me a thinking with his post above but I have been unable to find any cars with a piano black or similar set of trim. Does anyone have it or know if it was and option for sure so I can get some prices together please?

i think the black trim you want is from a germany only limited edition, they did a black edition and a white edition.
i think door trims, bucket seat backs and gear stick trim were either gloss black or gloss white.
be a lot easier and cheaper to just wrap your original trim.
