cradle-free centre console part no.?

Post by stu » Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:04 pm

Hi, as per title.

Like lots of us on here I too have the factory cradle baseplate just to the left of the RNS-E unit and it has to go. Great for the iPhone 4S, obsolete for everything thereafter.

TPS and my local Audi parts department can't figure out the part number so can't order it for me.

Much appreciated! Stu :beerchug:

Stu - it's not this part you're after is it by any chance? http://r.ebay.com/faOour

If so, you could be in for a bargain :)

So close Tony! I think Ads is right. I had a hunt on ebay too but didn't find that item. If the part number doesn't materialise I may go best guess with TPS

Anyone remember the price of the part new?

Thanks

Just slap one of these on your current cradle and you can put any phone on it. They're awesome. It's got a stronger grip than a <beep> holding a mouse.

Jesus I agree with bam twice in the same day ;)
Yes, swimbo uses one on the mini and it's quite amazing how well they stick.

Stop agreeing with me, I'll look intelligent by association and that never ends well. The last time it happened, George W. Bush got in as president.

When I was going to get rid of my cradle I was told interior repairers could fill the holes and re texture to match? Might be an option?

Excellent - I've never seen that before.

I've just got my hands on a Google wireless charging orb for my new phone. I don't want to make a project out of it, but it would be very cool if I could use it in the car. Sits nicely on the closed ashtray. It uses a combination of sticky stuff (like the Grippy) and magnets.

End of the day, aesthetics is first for me, charing ability second. The cradle must go!

Yeah, I've heard that too. Not convinced though. I'd rather get the new piece. I'm a picky <beep>.
