Thanks Eddie. What sort of colour are they? All the ones I've found so far have already started to go yellow or the red sticker has started peeling.

I will do. At the minute it is getting better and better sounding though. I just got back in from a nice drive back and the car was flying with the slightly cooler night air and sounding nice even with the windows closed. Currently I have no interest in quieting it down but I'll give it a few weeks of early starts to see if I am living with an Angry Bird again.

Mike I'll take a photo of them tomorrow evening and you can have a look. Also I deliver to a few takeaways in Hinckley on a Sunday so if that's any good to you we could meet up around the m69 junction.

Hi mike here's the picture. I've got to say they seem a little yellow. Maybe not the best and it does appear that the red label has lifted in 2 corners not torn though.

Thanks Eddie. Although they are better than mine I think I'll give it a miss as they have started yellowing and will still not match the other carbon.

No problem mate. I thought as much after I put them on the black pillow case.

I've spoken to the company that make that plug and play option.
Price is a resonable 129Euros delivered to the UK.
However, it will only start in sport mode i.e. flaps open. No good if you want a quiet start to avoid angry family / neighbours.
And even when in silent mode the vavles will only close up to 3500rpm then open up again.

I wanted it to be able to remember the last state and stay in that state until I choose otherwise.
And I wanted 3 modes;
Always open
Always closed
Normal mode i.e operated by Sport button

I also wanted an option to hard wire control so not have to use the remote.

I have found such devices for other cars, which may well be compatible with the RS4 but they were about 3 or 400 quid (from memory) and may not even work with the RS4.

Wiring a switch myself would probably be the best solution then. Would just need to run some wires from switch / dash to the rear left side of the boot, which is easy enough as my car is part stripped anyway. Not entriely sure I want / need to silence the exhaust yet, but just looking at options still.

What's the name of the company that do the plug in unit? Not a bad price. Good find!

Let me know if you find a blank or "rs4" switch, couldn't find one! I ended up buying a front parking sensor switch and some black rubber model paint and was going to paint to cover the parking symbol. I nicked the paint idea from the aircon button sticky, and ended up using it on the surround for my new headunit...really good match to the dash.

I think it was PSE-Bypass. A french company.
I can dig out the address later but I think their website was the name then .wix.com or somehsometlike that.

I saw an rs4 button last week. Ill have to try and retrace my steps later. I think Neil linked to the website.

I'm reading on my phone so it is automatically translating. When you select the cover you want it gives you the option to select whether you have the black strip or chrome strip (early cars had black strips on the buttons but later ones had Chrome). You can also select if you want it supplied with an Audi button, and the best bit for me is that you can select if you want it is a press to make button or a latching switch which means I can have the valves stay permanently open or closed untIl the button is pressed again. It means It will only have on or off and no normal mode but I could wire another switch for normal mode if I wanted but doubt I'd ever use it.
