I'm sorry. The pagids were <beep>. the ferodo premiere I linked to are the cheap pads that are the ones to get :)

Did you get your brakes fixed?

I had exactly the same issue as yourself and Marcus fixed the problem straight away. That was 12 months ago and no problem since
hi!

I've had MRC check the hubs and wheel face, and there was nothing really to find - they made sure the surfaces were clean but other than that, there was no improvement. Then I mentioned to Doug that I was running the EuroCarParts "oem" pads and he almost slapped me. He recommended I change immediately to Ferodo Premiere pads (still very low cost, but much better apparently).

I bought online last week and drilled all the holes in the discs clean (there was a LOT of pad material). Then I fitted the new pads.

I didn't have much time, but bedded the pads in as best as I could on Wednesday last week. Thursday I drove the 700 miles from my house to the Nurburgring where I've spent the last 4 days, returning yesterday. By the end of the trip there, I experienced no more judder at all. I did 7 laps of the 'ring (3 back to back) and never experienced anything other than perfect breaking. No judder, no fade, nothing. Then drove home yesterday, again, with perfect brakes.

The pagid pads I was recommended by Doug @ MRC have completely cured my judder for sure. I think I will need another set of pads soon (I have another 'ring trip next month) so may go for something better again, but I think the lesson here is nasty cheap pads = expensive option. I was very lucky not to have ruined a brand new set of disks with those cheap EuroCarParts shitty pads. :(

Here are the pads I'm currently using:

Glad you got them sorted Ross :thumb:

Am I right in thinking RS6 front pads can fit the front of the RS4?

Are all these 10 pages about judder just about the front brake discs or both? As I wrote in a new topic I have this now at rear after having had my rear discs skimmed.

My brakes juddered and believe it or not it was due to the wheels being out of balance. I am running 20" S5 alloys so I can only image that the large cicumference exaggerates the vibration. I'm also running AP Disks, I have no vibration whatsoever.

My judder has returned but not badly - yet! 2000 miles now on those premiere pads and I'm about 30% through the pads - I'm guessing the disk holes need clearing again so that's a job for tomorrow.

Next up, cl5+ or endless pads (if I can find a supplier).

I had my rear brake discs skimmed again at another place (there was 0,1 mm thickness difference) and now the judder is gone completely!

My shudder is back and I'm well pissed off. Going to put my standard spare wheels on and clean my holes out.

I'm sick of the judder now. Doug keeps hassling me to get them skimmed and I guess that's a possibility although I've been looking at the larger rotors anyway so it's a toss up.

I have the same problem too and it's getting worse. Changed my discs and pads to Tarox discs and yellow stuff pads and only covered about 500 miles when I started to feel a slight judder which is now even worse. Getting the discs replaced as I thought they were warped but after reading through this thread that might not be the case.

Also have brake squeal under light breaking but goes away under heavy breaking,it has done this ever since breaks were change, everything was copper greased during change over to prevent this happening but to no avail, anybody have any idea why the are squeaking?

Have you checked the wheels? Either tyres out of balance or worst case slightly buckled wheels. Does it only judder under breaking or does it happen at high >100 speeds?

Guy's....If your pads are pinching when putting them in then you have corrosion under the steel plates. This is what caused my OEM steel discs to warp as the pad doesn't fully retract from the disc face. Calliper refurb is the answer.

Yep mrc have checked my wheels and so forth. The pads slide easily on mine also. My vibration is really only under braking from high speed (think: decelerating rather than "braking"). Long duration gentle pedal so slowing gently from say 130 to 70 - by 70mph it's shaking. Hard braking (HARD) and no judder whatsoever.

Very similar to mine. 130mph gentle braking no vibration. Hard braking I get vibration. Under 70mph hard or gentle braking no vibration at all.

I have yellow stuff front and rear and the squeal is common from them, just there make up I have been told. You get used to it after a while but when they are fully warm there is no noise.

Pedestrians seem to enjoy when they are super screechy
