Not that I've ever heard of and certainly not using VCDS - apart from a blown fuse.

Yes, the lights are under the doors and front + rear footwells (and door handles I think...)

there's a white one in the bottom of every door (puddle light) plus a red one on the side of every door.
there's one i n each footwell and dependant if you have buckets, also in the back.

I bought an array of LED bulbs for the interior lights.

The festoon type all work fine, but the bayonets (BA9S) used in the switchable map reading lights don't. They work when all interiors lights are on, but if you use them independently (i.e. just switch on map lights) they don't light. I'm guessing this is because when using the map light switches the polarity is reversed?

Is there any way round this by adding additional resistors, or am I just talking bollox (quite likely).

Pretty sure mine work on their own, I'll check tonight. I think if you turn on just the rears they flashed at first but that stopped.

The door handles have the red LEDs dont they, as well as in the front centre roof bit? Was that part of the light pack or a seperate option or standard? Couldnt really see them when I lived in london as it was alwyas too bright but more obvious now i'm in the stick with unlit roads.

Resistors won't swap the polarity so won't solve the problem if it's caused by a polarity swap.

If you are talking about the red LEDs they were definitely not standard on all A4s, maybe standard on the RS4 though and maybe part of the lighting pack. There was a big thread somewhere about retro fitting them so can't be standard on all Audis.
