Well she clearly liked driving it, and alluded to some of the pitfalls, but she clearly undervalued it. If you want to sell it for £15k, i'd be interested! :bash:

Well to be fair, they said "an"RS4 could be had for as little as £15k. Not yours specifically. Let's face it, you could , but it would be a shonker. My offer still stands! :biggrin3:

Car looked ace. Real credit. I was watching VBH drive it and I thought 'wow - I've got one of those'!

Was very surprised they didn't have an M3 in the comparison test, got to say though 5th Gear is so much more about actual CARS than Top Gear has become.
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s

a focus and a rover in comparison, wtf

did sound good, and i like the fact its still believed to be one of the best engines made, despite the carbon.

i was a big top gear fan but im in agreement it is better than top gear now, although it does drag a bit at times

Agreed - a MONDEO and a dogs dinner rover - rubbish.

I dunno - top gear is still the best, and I can't help but feel the young bloke is trying so hard to pull off one liners like Clarkson that simply never works...

The programme loses a bit of credibility to be honest when an Rs4 is against a rover and a mondeo - there's shag all to say about the rover mg...

Disappointed with that feature in the end, expected a lot more - a 2006/7 M3 and C63 would have been much more entertaining.
Will, your RS did the marque proud as the other 2 shown were simply sh*t and 'every reps dream car was a Mondeo ST220', I don't think so! I have a Mondeo when I was repping in the 90's and fought hard to change to a 1.8T Sport A4, and never looked back..

£15k. Wrong.

IMO of course….

in fairness to the other guys / cars, none of us knew what else we were going to be "up against" until shortly beforehand, not that anyone would have at that point said "oh well in that case i'm not playing" lol

when we all met up in the morning, the other 2 very quickly said it wasn't exactly a fair comparison in terms of cost, performance etc and I couldn't really argue with that. I think C63 and M3 were mentioned in terms of what would be a better comparison although they DID compare the RS4 and the M3 CSL a number of years back on 5th gear... and did all three on Top Gear too if you recall...

i think the point was that it wasn't a head to head it was more of a "for x £££ you can have this or for half that you could have this or even less and you could have this" - I believe thats the whole idea of the "cheapskate" feature...

maybe that why they devalued mine ?!! to make the spread of values more even ?

the chap with the mondeo had only just bought it a few weeks ago and happened to notice someone was looking for one for filming and the MG chap was really into his marque and knew more about them and that car than I could ever remember.

anyway - glad mine was well received though on the day, on the tv and by you guys based on the positive comments so far. I've still yet to watch the sodding episode lol so the suspense is killing me :(
