The pic is not very good! But it was 360bhp before Amd done any work so I I gained 74bhp that's loads!watts6087 wrote:I was pleased with my result! And I had the per cats gutted at Amd!

Yep very pleased with that - going to run it on different fuel for a month then go back again and see if I can get closer to quoted stock bhp (which appears to be possible for my car)GlenRS wrote:Hi Covkiller,Covkiller wrote:Hi GlenRS If you're referring to my last post please can you point out where you see the additional mods and setup between my pre and post decoke breakdown.

Wasn't aimed specifically at your post, as there has been several calls for people to post up a direct comparison yet we appear to all still be waiting to see one. Even Spikeys post above is after a vac leak has been fixed and so im left wondering just how much difference if any the decoke made![]()
But yes your post also falls into this, so i'll use it for example:As you can see this is not comparable as it uses a different map, and I assume a different dyno?Covkiller wrote: Pre Decoke 399.4PS with Revo remap
Post Decoke 439.5PS with MRC remap
An amazing 40.1PS more
EDIT:
Rather impressed with WillRS post, that's a good gain from just a carbon clean!

Yes different map but same car and engine.Covkiller wrote:Hi GlenRS
Same MRC dyno used for all runs.
Please see Reading 3 for the pre and post results ie:
Reading 3 – 425.9PS shows Revo’s map result post decoke
Pre Decoke 399.4PS with Revo Remap

Basically, if your RS4 is down on power, get it checked, rectify the issue, get it cleaned, Terraclean and MRC decoke and port the Inlet Manifold, spend the money and hey presto more BHP, Torque ! Simple, so to all who doubt keep driving your coked up cars whilst the rest of us drive our 193mph 434bhp monsters !
As said in Rush the only thing a man loves more than a women is a car.

It's probably your fault too!
Re: Anyone have there decoke pre+post results?
Mine's at MRC now for a service and clean. I'll post the results when i get it back.

Re: Anyone have there decoke pre+post results?
The results are in
Pre service/decoke 336.7PS @247kmh/7600rpm 413Nm @ 3364rpm
Full engine service, aux rads and a decoke, so no performance mods to speak of
404.9PS @250kmh/7665 rpm 442Nm @5559rpm.
The difference is rather noticable on the road!

Re: Anyone have there decoke pre+post results?
For GlenRS, if you want pre and post decoke results search my threads on here when I used to own an RS4, it should have the info. Off the top of my head with just a cat back and BMC filter I was running 396bhp and 317 ft lbs and post decoke it was 415bhp / 315 ft. lbs. 421(?)bhp after port / polish. That was on an 80k mile car. All done on a Dastek road independent of the place that did the work.
Issue is that a car will run slightly different power/ torque figures on every single occasion even on the same road on different days using the machine's automatic adjustments for temp pressure etc. 70bhp gains for me are not decoke only, by removing the manifold and reinserting often a vacuum leak will get sorted at the same time, simple as a crimped or blocked pipe. and I doubt most would be able to feel a 20bhjp gain in a 1700kg car. As for increased throttle response yes it does happen and mid range pull is improved but it will be with clean valves, issue is that FSI build up will always happen so it is whether you are in a position to shell out £500-1000 every 10k miles to have it cleaned for often the placebo effect which wears off. If not don't worry about it too much, good use of the engines full potential on a regular basis, daily driving if you can and good warm up, cool down periods with good grade fuel and oil will keep it near tip top condition.

Re: Anyone have there decoke pre+post results?
Those runs were a week apart, so theres plenty of room for density/temperature differences. They did say it was one of the worst they had seen in terms of carbon build up, and it was in need of a service. There were no vacuum issues to start with, or at least thats what they told me!
It is quite a noticeable difference on the road.
