not helping Sonny, lol.

Maybe I should try again with the handbrake off?

Sorry bud, I was quoting the above post.
There are so many variables in this test that can effect the outcome, very much like any test, rolling roads, track test etc.

There should be no reason why you are not getting mid 8s. Did you do it with traction on or off?

How much do you weight?

Hrm, good point, traction control was still on - I didn't notice it blink tho. Would it still be having an effect even though the light didn't blink?

I weigh 90kgs.

1700 m ASL? almost 5600 ft, wow
at least a 20% HP loss

traction control doesn't make a difference, it's hard to break loose without shifting an at 3000 rpm
start at 2000, ease into the throttle slowly hitting 100% at 2600 to 2800

1,753 metres ( 5,751 ft) is the exact and why my old B6 S4 was like an old bull being harrased by Jackels (i.e Gti's and S3's)

a fellow on another forum did the test with his APR supercharged RS4 last week. His timing method used was Vagcom log, which in my experience is a bit 'slower' than the stopwatch/speedo method. i.e. my car can do 8.2-8.3 seconds on the stopwatch/speedo with video, but is usually more like 8.5-8.6 on a Vagcom log

anyway, here's his data on a 93 US octane tune (98 Europe octane) and a mix of gas that is probably more ike 95 octane (or around 100 Europe octane)

1st, he did it before the supercharger
Mods - piggies, JHM 91 octane tune, stock catback exhaust
8.19 seconds in Vagcom 3000-8000
6 Celsius near sea level

Then, after the supercharger, still with piggies and stock catback exhaust. Everything else same (fuel, location) but temp was warmer (10 Celsius)
6.59 seconds

Here's his post:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Below are my times from 6 3rd gear pulls this morning. The No-SC runs were taken Jan 12th and had a lower temp advantage. Today it ~50F vs ~39.
Current setup with piggies and stock exhaust.

Picked up 1.6 seconds on average.

(Units in seconds)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
3k-8k = 6.85
3k-8k = 6.55
3k-8k = 6.62
3k-8k = 6.43
3k-8k = 6.48
3k-8k = 6.61
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Average = 6.59
Average-NoSC = 8.19
Delta = 1.60

I have the carbon build up cleaning in planning but I'll give this test a try before we'll have snow on the road:)

Hi Rob,

Where are you going to take your car for the cleanup?have you asked for a quote? The previous owner of my car took it to APR Finland and as far as I can say they did a very good (but expensive) work.

Did one recently. 8.0 seconds.

Car is stock other than JHM catted downpipes and JHM resonated exhaust.

That CEL may be holding the car back a little up top. It's the B1S1 O2 sensor. The exhaust Shop must have done something to it as it's reading no signal.

Fuel and temp are shown. Car was as hot as a pistol after a spirited drive. Ambient temp 13 Celsius , elevation 290 feet and surface was flat (varied by only 1.1 foot over the whole run according to pbox) car had 240lb driver and forty lbs of cargo (last round of golf of the season was today :( )

Will be doing a few timed runs over the next week..how do you find out how far above sea level you are?

When in NAV, press the NAV-INFO soft key on the RNS-E and scroll until you see the position/altitude information.
