Same car, dyno results and logs of intake temps - cooled with axial fans and high pressure centrifugal fans, then left and cooled with one axial fan on slow speed

power drop is proportional to intake temps

Well guys
Im currently at the car with VCDS plugged in and again Im getting this fcuking fault 1 Fault Found:

008567 - Bank 1; System Too Lean off Idle
P2177 - 001 -

Just checked the Ross tech Wiki and it says the following

18609/P2177/008567 - Bank 1; System Too Lean off Idle

18609/P2177/008567 - Bank 1; System Too Lean off Idle: Upper Limit Exceeded

Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Ligh (MIL) active

Possible Causes
Fuel Pump (G6) faulty
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (G70) faulty
Intake System leaking
Exhaust System leaking

Possible Solutions
Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (G70)
Check Fuel Pump (G6)
Check Fuel Injectors
Check Intake System
Check Exhaust System

I've changed the MAF today but was getting this fault code prior to this.

So can anyone help me here as I am loosing faith and the will to live.
This has been going on far too long and despite me being patient I am now tired of this and just want to know what needs to be done to sort it. :dung: :dung: :dung:

This has been going on since the car came out of AmD the first week of Sept
well I guess they should sort this for you, if it was ok before hand, failing that MRC will sort this I'm sure

Let's take these possible causes one at a time:
- fuel pump;
are they another other fault codes relating to low fuel pressure?
what about the fuel filter? Has the tank run really low recently and dragged up some sludge?

- MAF;
you've changed that so that's unlikely to be the problem (but it's not unknown for a new replacement to be faulty).

- Intake System leaking;
have you checked the vacuum system for leaks (including around the exhaust valves)?
have the inlet manifolds been off, are the gaskets in good condition?

- Exhaust System leaking;
try blocking the exhaust outlets and seeing if the engine note changes.

Louie, try resetting the fault codes and then disconnect the battery for 20 mins.

After that, re-connect the battery and run a fault code check - if any are still there then clear again and if that doesn't get rid of them, there is a deeper problem.

Louie

Another big thanks from me to you and AmD for laying on Sunday. First RS4 event I've been to, so it was good to put some faces to user names.

I was another one that seemed to have "lost" some power since my last RR run - mine made 438ps (so about 430bhp) at mrc last December after having stage 2 manifold & remap, gutted pre cats and CAI fitted. Sunday it only made 413bhp - so I seem to have lost about 17bhp somewhere. I suspect it's variability in rolling roads as the car doesn't feel any slower.

Have to agree with others that generally chasing power increases with these cars is an expensive and largely futile exercise. The one change I would do again is the remap to give full throttle in the first 3 gears and more importantly the more aggressive throttle map in sport mode - that alone subjectively makes the car feel much quicker (even though it obviously makes no difference to actual power!).

David's supercharged car was great - but that mod is just too expensive :( .
