Not only still no V Power here but went to Wolverhampton today and every Shell garage I passed had none either.

Some BP stations have got Ultimate but then others locally to me don't.

Just found a garage near me that had a delivery this morning of V-Power and I filled up. I was wondering what I was going to spend that £90 on (152p/Ltr) :boohoo:

It looks like we might be a step closer to a deal with the unions:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17706221
The fuel tanker drivers' dispute could be over after the Unite union agreed to put a possible deal to its members.

The deal was tabled following lengthy talks between the union and officials from six distribution firms.

The threat of a strike over safety and working conditions resulted in panic buying at petrol stations.

About 60 union representatives from across the country will discuss the deal, and could still reject the proposals or ask for changes.

BBC transport correspondent Richard Westcott said there could still be a decision to strike, but that a deal was now effectively on the table.
I still can't believe that Shell have virtually no fuel round my way and certainly V-Power at any of the 8 Shell garages that i've driven to this week! I'm still slumming it on BP Ultimate.

The only good thing about the shortage is that the fuel is fresh so it should be even better

I can't tell if you're joking or not! :D

I'd read in some zombie/ post apocalyptic story book that petrol goes off (World War Z maybe?), but I thought it was just made up by the writer. Do the alcohols, hydrocarbons (or what petrol is actually comprised of) really go off / denature over time?

Shell truck was leaving Hitchin as I entered Thursday. 149.9, happy with that all things considered. :drink:

Pretty pathetic though when Momentum is some 5p /litre cheaper. Shell appear to be losing touch with the term competition to the detrimet of its customers. They used to be the same if not better price wise but now all the stations are in the most expensive available.

Three quid per tank adds up over the year over the year I suppose. I might start looking out for Momentum instead. Any downsides?

Higher Ethanol Content to get the Octane rating but I'm inclined to use Momentum most of the time and every 5th tank is V-power. Plus I get Clubcard Points that are worth far more than Shell Drivers club rewards.

Is there a problem with higher ethanol content? Is there wear and tear issues?
