If price wasn't an issue, which tyre would you opt for?

Everyone has there own opinion's and that's great! I don't drive my car like an old man. I drive it hard probably harder than most as it's not an everyday drive so when I say I have done 16k plus I don't mean on motorways I mean on real A roads through bends etc most being in Wales etc. on some of the best roads in the UK that I know from being a biker. Just because they have lasted doesn't mean I drive like a Pussy.
Plus I'm running more BHP than most of you
so as far as I'm concerned the PS2's have just done there job very well.......

Current car..... hmmmmm????

No time limit P_G, just PM me whenever you're ready and i'll sort it out.P_G wrote:Dan, is there a time limit on this? Just got some shinny new boots for the car after 12k. Had about 4 mm left, and then with the help of Mr Don Palmer successfully destroyed the rest? What a magic day.
Like most folks I was wondering what to go for next. Was thinking about the F1’s in either 255/35/19 or 275/30/19. Finally opted for the Michelin PS2’s in 255/35/19. Part of this was due to the reviews that they were receiving and the other was the price. There was just £35 per tyre difference between the F1’s and PS2’s from the company I use (He was cheaper than Costco too.). When these are the things that can make the difference between staying on the road or wiping out I would rather stump up the cash so PS2’s it was. Just started to scrub them in and they seem magic so far loads of grip. A lot less road noise and there is a reasonable rim protector too.
For anybody from NE Scotland area (Aberdeenshire) I used a bloke called Norman from Tyre devotion. Couldn’t fault him in any way. He came to the house (All included in the cost) and replaced all 4 tyres During which he noticed that one of the tyres had a different marking. It had an R01 instead of G01 on it. He wasn’t happy to fit it as it wasn’t the same as the rest so he was straight on the phone to his supplier and had another tyre sent up to be fitted that afternoon. He was meticulous in setting the machine up and removed all the previous sticky stuff from the previous weights. Well worth a phone call.
Also worth a try is Clarks Motorsport in Knitore. Popped in past to see if they did laser wheel alignment. Nice surprise to find they had just had a nice new hunter system installed (I think that’s what it was called). So the alignment got checked too.
Also interesting to find that they were £150 cheaper than the quote I received from Aberdeen Audi! They are very professional and know their stuff. They can also supply high spec disks and pads at reasonable prices.
No I’m not on commission. Just a typical jock and every penny is a prisoner.
Hope that helps some of you out.

I have just had my back and fronts changed over to even out the tread use and it seems that I might be looking for some new shoes fairly sharpish. So I have had a couple of quotes today on the 275/30 F1's and they are between £805 and 1k for 4 fully fitted without valves. I thought that was reasonsble but a big difference. The main issue is if i turn up to a tyre fitter with tyres in the boot is that they wont fit them for insurance purposes!!djt wrote:255/35.
I have a mate who owns a tyre place, so he sells me them cheaper than usual. I think he charges me whatever he feels like at the time because the price does seem to vary but i'm certainly not complaining.
