Yee Haa !!!! Miltek fitted

Post by Skip » Mon Apr 21, 2008 6:42 pm

Miltek cat-back, non-res, non-valved fitted sounds great :rocker: I was gonna get down pipes as well but Jim at Star Performance changed my mind. There are still problems with warning light coming on after a couple of hundred miles. The sound accelerating not hard just normal from 1st to 2nd to 3rd is really awsome, when at cruising speed not much difference from oem. I have just done a trip to Swindon and back so know the sound of oem.

Diggler nice to meet you dude, when Jim had finished he didnt realise you had been and because of the rolling road results he said if you had stayed he would have done a run oun your car for free to get a comparison to mine. Check the results out I'm not very impressed as audi quote a lot more, might drop them a letter. Jim said the other RS4 B7's he has done did not get over 390 BHP and the same was said from Miltek.

Any comments

Skip, I don't think many of the RS4's run the quoted figures. I had mined dyno'ed and it reached simialr output to yours. Interesting Jim didn't take your car over 8000 rpm though.

Was the run done on 3rd or 4th?

BTW congrats on the Milltek and enjoy.

Must have been 4th as max speed on run was 132 mph. I will be living in it for a week just for the sound track :)

That'll explain it as if he pushed further he probably would have exceeded the r/r speed rating.

When mine was done 3rd and 4th gear runs were done and on diferent modes, in reality I think you could extrapolate whatever figures you like from a r/r with different gearing, sghoot modes and of course the holy grail of extrapolation, transmission loss.

So long your bum / seat / audio dyno can tell the difference thats all that counts.

Has anyone used a GTech Pro RR to evaluate their car's performance/power output?

This inertial method might give more accurate results...
