SEAT Exeo RNSE Sat Nav in B7 RS4...

Good luck sorting it out. Presumably the next stage is, after charging the battery again, leaving the Bose amp disconnected....

After charging the battery fully I checked the voltage and it read 12.58v. I then did some further testing with the BOSE amp and a multimeter. After about 10 minutes the reading drops to 0.004 whether the BOSE amp is plugged in or not, so I think I can rule that out. After about 30 mins of taking readings etc the battery has dropped to 12.5v. 


I'm running a VCDS scan to see if anything comes up. I also checked the battery age and it seems to be the original battery but I don't want to replace it unnecessarily, especially if that's not the problem. 


Anything else I should be checking or just replace the battery?

If you have disconnected the amp. Remember you are only looking at the audio because you changed something. And the battery is still draining, stop looking at the audio. It’s a red herring.

You could be on to something. Tried to start it again and... Flat battery! Won't even turn over.

If the battery is 13 years old there is a very good chance it is toast. Personally I'd have changed the battery by now anyway, no-one wants to end up stranded with a car that won't start especially once the winter comes and it becomes harder to start the car.

Change the battery , I had a few issues of battery drain but thought it was because I didnt drive it enough, then one day dead changed to a new one and now it's a good strong start no issues . Batterys only have a 10 year life max I'm sure I read on it

If it's the original battery, being a B7 is at least 10 years old, I'd change it anyway at the first hint of any problem. Which you've had...
It owes you nothing now and has lasted way longer than most.

The 7 digit post code is part of the disk. The screen quality is much better on the RNSE2 and still uses the DIS.

I use DAB through my phone connected via the AMI. Can also navigate music from the RNSE , artists, playlist etc.

Is there a specific AMI that you need, do you have a link ? I take it that it only works on the newer rnse

Will only work with RNSE MK2.

The only AMI unit that’ll work with a Mk2 RNSE in a B7, is the A3 unit 8P0. Don’t be tempted to get the cheaper B8 A4 unit. No one that I know of has got one to work.

Could you post the coding that you use on your Exeo RNS-E ?
I am interested due to the fact that I purchased an A3 AMI-CAN and my Exeo RNS-E does not accept the coding for AMI ... it give error31 : coding out of range.
I am on the latest RNS-E software, from the latest and final maps DVD.

Second from last digit should be a 2.
