It costs me $10,000 per year to buy the drop bear insurance!! - so far I have been lucky enough not to have made a claim! :biggrin3:

The compulsory 3rd party in Oz only covers injury/death to other people, but doesnt cover 3rd party property damage.

Vehicle registration/tax is around $500 per year, of which around $150 is the 3rd party insurance.

You can voluntarily buy 3rd party property damage and thats around $150 per year

Those of you with admiral multi car policy, can i ask what the deal was on monthly instalments? I have an aviva multicar policy as the admiral quote was the cheapest but had horrific interest charges to do it monthly.Do direct line still not allow mods?

May be a new rule: If your from Aberdeenshire it is polite not to post your Insurance renewal quotes as it upsets the Southerners.

Of course i took it :)
Me personally I would have told them to stick it. If they are willing to try and mug you off for a grand and then change their mind because they know they are being greedy I would have thrown it back in their face.

Seems to be no rules to these companies and they can do what they like.
+ 1 Totally agree, give it to the company that gives you the best price from the start

They will do monthly instalments but when I asked the interest rate was ludicrous, so in the switchover year from 3 separate insurances to multicar I started saving monthly into an interest earning savings account and I use that to pay Admiral annually - so I'm earning interest instead of paying them interest.
