Probably a stupid question but given the car im considering has the armrest bluetooth cradle and MFSW, does the phone have to be plugged into the cradle in order for the MFSW controls to work, or can I answer etc without it being snapped in place (in my pocket or a cubby side pocket)?
The cradle is only used for charging and connecting to the antenna amplifier, even when you plug your phone into the cradle, it's still connect to the car via Bluetooth.

Also, if you want a FBSW, but want to keep the multi functions, you can swap yours for the one from a TTRS or RS3.

Could anybody enlighten me on the Privacy Glass option. The price list brochure I have doesn't make any mention of it at all. I've seen a few people ask if it was part of the Optic pack, but that can't be right as there are plenty of non optic pack cars with it...

Privacy glass was a factory option on the avant and was completely independent of the black optics
Current: Macan Turbo, Boxster 987 S
Gone: RS6 C6 Avant, RS4 B7 Avant, Tamora Speed Six

That's what I thought. No mention of it in the official price list though...

Hmmmm, the only mention of "tinted" in the brochure is in the Standard equipment: "Heat-insulating tinted glass"

In the Saloon and Avant version of the hardback book it says:

"Tinted windows (Avant), rear window, rear door windows and rear side windows"
Gone: 2006 B7 RS4 Avant (Phantom Black)

Yup. Original price list says: "Privacy glass. Dark tinted rear window, rear door windows and rear side windows (available on Avant models only)" - and in exchange, Audi would have relieved you of 325 of your English pounds - which I guess is about what it would cost to have a good quality after market job done on a car these days

I've got Edition 4, effective May 06, which makes no mention of tinted glass, so it would appear I have an early price list.

I don't suppose anybody has a copy of a newer version in PDF format?
