I got the Assym 2's fitted on Friday - have to say the car looks absolutely PHHATT, I did get a few compliments over the weekend from random people which I haven't had for quite a while. I haven't any pics yet but I left the rear spacers on and no rubbing that I can tell, initial feel of the tyres is pretty good. The are a hell of a lot quiter and ride is hugely better than the Vreds athough they where well past their best.

Only downer was that I have a seized track rod end on front NS (which they couldn't adjust on alignment) and they noticed the rubber seal around where the driveshaft is lubricated has perished and is leaking (sorry for lack of technical description).

Nice one Jack, is that the inner or outer cv joint? Outer is a mot failure and a inner is is about a hour job.

Glad you like the f1s at the mo im very impressed with them, breaking is good too, so there active block breaking technology works lol

Cheers Sonny - not sure whether inner or outer, will have to take to the stealers. You are right about the braking, even though not fully scrubbed in yet the F1's are a lot more assured. The rim protection is epic too, would really have to clobber the wheel off something to damage the alloy.

Rear photo probably could be have been taken from further away to show just how wide they look on the car....

The 275's will be back on early next month, and pics can be taken then if required

255 or whatever the standard size is. If thinking of going for a wider tyre (275) for asthetics I wouldn't bother as standard fit GY F1 A2 is certainly the widest I have had out of 4 different sets of tyres.

Sonny - Car is on "ordinary" suspension
I would return to 255's next time, as the new F1's are wider than the previous generation, and I'm not sure there are any benefits to 275's on that basis
Cheers,
Chris

Pros and cons to 255 vs 275. Its been discussed on here a few times. imo the wider looking 255s should be perfect, but really depends what your after.

Good rim protection is what i am after  dont want to spend lots of wonga on refurb and tyres for the wife to then destroy them in John lewis Car Park :bash:

I guess from comparing yours and crispys photos the 275's would win that battle, but if crispys are the previous generation GYEF1 then does that mean the ASY2's could be even wider?

God choosing between these tyres is becoming head work

Sorted - just priced tyres, supply only as below pretty much made my decision to go 255

275/30/19 ASY2 XL - £210.00 + Vat
255/35/19 ASY2 XL - £176.00 + Vat

Nice one, who was that with? Both of my local tyre fitteres refused to fit own sourced tyres so had to buy theres :bash: Cheers for that, will take business elsewhere. More than happy with the Lepsons price to be fair.

I think the 275 will be way to big, may lead to tram-lining etc. and most def some rubbing on full compression/load.
