It might not be that important in the grand scheme of things, but I think it would be some kind of injustice if we didn't get some stunning pics as part of this. So can the planners have a think about this too. Would be awesome if we can get a shot along the grilles all the way down.

Btw. I'd like to hear a tubi as well as mill tek if possible. Is there anyone who's planning to go that's running one?

I'm quite sure there will be plenty of quality snaps taken. Pie is more than a bit handy with his camera and he's coming down with us. Bit of video would be really good also....

A pal who lives in Pickering suggests this as a possible venue

http://www.theoldlodgemalton.co.uk/

Certainly looks big enough with plenty parking for 25+ cars.

No plans yet although I might be down in Edinburgh on the Friday / Saturday so will have to RV with the Aberdeen group somewhere south of Edinburgh.
I can easily manage a drive up the road again afterwards - picked the car up from Wakefield Audi and did the return Journey in a little over 6 hours in winter plus I have the missus to split the driving with but if there's plans to overnight it somewhere I'd easily go with that option too.

Just had a nice chat with Irene at the hotel. They can cater for 25+ cars easily and they can also feed their occupants, singly or en masse, around 2pm. They have a booked function at 4.30 but we should be well gone by then.

The hotel is next to 'Orchard Fields', an ancient Roman site, and that weekend is Roman Weekend. Lots of special events on in Malton and surrounds so something for everyone. We are trying to organise a large meet at the height of the summer in a popular tourist area on a special weekend - methinks we need to firm up asap.
