Cheers mate. I'm going to put a day aside, take the whole thing off and do it properly.

Pete let me know if you want the rest of the official fitting guide and I will see what I can do, but do bear in mind, it makes roughly as much sense as the other instructions !

mines getting done soon!!!
When I did mine originally I took the whole thing off as it was so far out. Which is a faff TBH.

Did you keep turning the deep set torx bolts to lift up the winder?

Just got back from Revolution in Newcastle, because i needed my front bumper sorted out after the dealers had replaced my Aux rads,(the dealer did a <beep> job putting the bumper back on), any how to cut a long story short. the guys at Revolution sorted the problem out in a half hour, and did a top job.

Thanks revolution top job.

So let me get it straight once and for all. You locate the bumper flange into the slot on the adjuster, turn the torx clockwise to clamp it, then continue to turn it clockwise to raise it up?

Going to do mine this weekend (finally)

seems like this is a common problem, with audi not putting the bumper back on properly or jut not knowing how its suppose to look... almost all Rs4's that I have see have the gap

Hah - this is nothing. I once had a sportscar from a "prestige" marque and needed a steering joint resolved. No big deal but when I picked the car up the wheel centre was off by about 45 degrees!

I had that exact same problem with a Mazda6. When I took it back they couldn't undertsand what I was making a fuss about.

There is a link to a previous thread on this containing another link to a 'how to':

http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 9&start=30

I've done mine this morning. After a few skinned knuckles, and a lot of help from my girlfriend (who can get into smaller spaces than me), it's not perfect but it's a sh*tload better than it was. Well chuffed!

just had my aux rads replaced by MRC ... picked up my car and the gap between the bumper and bonnet is HUGE ! I could literally fit a house in there ... it looks like the bonnets open

not happy

tbf to MRC, they said I can bring it back and they'll sort it, but pain in the arse as they're 75 miles away

if this happened at an Audi Dealer i'd have gone nuts, but i'll give MRC the benefit of the doubt

but come on ... "right first time"

So to surmise (can somebody confirm?):

1. Pop the bonnet
2. Remove 3-No. bolts at the top of the grill.
3. Use a long reach T30 Torx bit to get access to the bonnet adjusters.
4. Turn clockwise until bumper alignment is correct.

This can be done in-situ and no requirement for the inner wheel arch liners and bumper to be removed?
