Cheap way into an RS4....
If you see an item on eBay that you believe is stolen, your best course is to contact law enforcement immediately. Under eBay's privacy rules, our lawyers will provide important records about pending and past listings with an official request from law enforcement officials. Please inform the police officer handling the case that eBay will be pleased to cooperate in the investigation, and ask the officer to contact eBay via the Law Enforcement area in the Safety Centre. It is important that these methods of contact be reserved for law enforcement use only, as it enables us to respond quickly in case of emergencies. Emails/faxes directed to these areas that are not from law enforcement will be routed to the appropriate mailbox or individual accordingly and may cause delays in response time.

I don't like to think myself a grass, I don't really care if the only infraction is a V5 mis-demeanour and would not want to get the seller in trouble if it is a gennuine conversion. If it is a conversion it is truly excellent and certainly has us enthusiats fooled, on the other hand if it is stolen, let him swing ! I would not be comfortable making the call to the police unless I had seen the car and I was sure.

I have had a good look at it and it's hard to fault, only thing is that it sits very low, poss even lower than SS+ which makes me wonder if it's on coilovers and is a 3.0 shell as Lengster suspects.
I can't think of a reason why the battery needs to be in the boot so it could still be in scuttle.
If there was no market for the stolen cars then there would be no theft.
Rest assured however that an innocent seller will be fine, there has to be good evidence that will stand up in court and I suspect with no direct link to any theft even if the parts were hot the seller would get away with an 'in good faith' plea

Thing is the dvla only care if a converted vehicle scores more than 8 on their modified scale.
An engine change is 1, transmission, axles, suspension and steering all score 2 with body a 5.
In theory it could be argued the body hasn't been changed enough so would still probably score less than 8.
For the effort, time and parts required (even from a written off rs4) I'd wager it cost more than a second hand original.

2/5ths of the way up the door from the bottom is a thin plastic body coloured strip running the width of the door. If you were to open the door against a flat wall, the back end of the moudling should make contact, not the door.
