I am over the moon with it, really really pleased.

Have you extended the warranty on yours? I am considering taking some warranty on mine but then I think it may be better to just save the money in an ISA in case I ever need it.

Don't go there, they are not very good. The one most appear to enthuse about is the Meguairs G220 orbital polisher however once donw that path the cost of pads, products, etc.... I'd rather a detailer did the job professionally once every six months / 1 year.

Providing they have adjustable rpm and preferably a soft start up any should do,its more important you use quality pads and products and prep the car properly,i keep the bodywork wet to help lubricate and keep things cool,im no expert but do it on a regular basis as i deal a few motors part time, use white spirit to remove any tar spots its cheap and much easier than clay barring awkward areas

13th March 2006

I extended the warranty on mine, prepaid so it would come in on the day my 3 year warranty expired, £1200 limited mileage, including Audi roadside. I purchased it just for peace of mind.

I got a years audi warranty thrown in on the deal from (i,ve owned my rs4 since feb), the dealers quoted me £800 to extend it for another year which seems a good price considering the usual cost seems to be £1200 for a years warranty

incidently i,ve already had over £1800 worth of work covered

How do you go about getting it? I am probably a bit late for Audi as mine is April 2006. Is there a window between manufacturers warranty finishing and obtaining extended?

I estimate that I will only do 2.5k - 3k miles per year, would you advise me to keep the money saved or purchase warranty?

Cheers

Dan

Phone up your Audi dealership (of choice) and tell them your interested in Audi extended warranty, they will send you out a information pack to your house (or they should do) or they will tell yo over the phone, however they may try to sell you the £2500 package. some dealerships or other warranty company may want to send out an assessor as to assess the vehicle before hand, I did mine rolling as to eliminate this.

Some say on here its not worth paying 1200 quid for the extended warranty saying that any repair work (if it was to go wrong) would likely to come up to 800-900 quid any way. unless you have a full engine failure, personally as said before, this was purely peace of mind.

Cheers Sonny I understand what you mean.

I suppose there is no right or wrong thing to do is there.

Out of interest how many miles do you do annually? Do you intend to take another year after this one?

I would say I do around 3-5k a year, If I can afford too I will def be extended my Audi warranty, also come re-sale time, its a bonus if you have warranty.

I had a lot of warranty work done on the Original warranty, I had some corrosion that got into the engine area, had to change the Rad, Alternator and starter motor, I used the Audi roadside 3 times. that was withing a year, admittedly the car goes into storage when I work overseas, and that is maybe one of the reasons why the car and the corrosion. Audi said that a leaking Rad hose was to blame?...hmmmmm
