But a stripped-out racing car for £50K may be just a BIT of a hard sell.

My thoughts exactly. It's a nice concept but, when the chips are down, who would buy it? IMHO the appeal of the S and RS cars is that you have practicality and relatively civilised motoring with serious performance.

If the RS4 just becomes a stripped down racer, then you can save yourself £20k by getting an Impreza or an Evo.

My money is on a RS6 clone, like the new S4 but with turbos. Audi has its mind on the Novulari plus a 100K Lamborghini rivalling supercar as the big toys.

But no biturbo - but based on Lamborghini technology.

I really hope for a DSG gearbox, but apparently there is a problem to handle all the power. :/

My guess is ~420 hp V8 - no turbos.
It will have DRC as well as manual and DSG or Tiptronic style gear box.

With our meeting at QuattroGmbh in November we all said that it must have turbos, if they decide at the last minute to not have turbos the i for one will not buy it.
And i cant see how its going to get 420 out of that normally aspirated V8 and stay responsive [img]images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
But my sources are as near as you can get to Quattro, and also now the UK division have aknowledged it too [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
So i am hopefull that this will be the end result.
