Looking even better than it already did now.

Do you have the sticky clutch pedal issue too? Let me know if you resolve it. I had Audi fit that solid pipe bend on the slave cylinder line which was meant to resolve the problem. It didn't.

Thanks Ellis!

Feck, I was pinning my hopes on that pipe between the master and slave cylinder!! Damn, back to the drawing board then..

Other possible causes I believe are airlocks, Master or Slave cylinder, thrust bearings bla bla bla, basically anything to do with the clutch lol. I'm confident it isn't the clutch, no slips, perfect gear changes etc..

Did Audi change that line for free? Was it a recall?

Need to get a catch up soon eh..

Yeah I pinned my hopes on it for weeks only to be disappointed once it was fitted. Unfortunately wasn't done under any form of recall, they did however give me a 50% discount of parts and labour as it did not cure the fault. Reasonable gesture from Audi I thought.

I am also pretty confident it isn't the clutch either but I'm running out of ideas. I initially thought it may be the release bearing too but I can't see how it would be that as it only happens after periods of full throttle, not all the time. Master/slave cylinder is a good shout but how to diagnose is a PITA. I'm at a loss with it all really, getting used to putting my foot under the pedal to return it now

Need to get a catch up. Would be good to get a few cars together for blast up to the Lecht or similar before the summer is out.

Exactly the same symptoms as mine, gets worse after spirited driving and have to toe the pedal back up. I've read of folk having the problem for years and just left it.
Yeah was speaking to Gary at the weekend and we were going to try and sort something out next month. I'm away on holiday on Saturday for a week. Maybe weekend of the 8th/9th or the one after? Give you a shout when I get back.

Oh well, at least that makes 2 of us with the same problem. Hopefully we can come up with some kind of remedy.

That weekend would work nicely with me. Watch this though, it'll pishing it down.

I meant to go to that most recent NEA meet but I was far too hungover for public viewing. Noticed you and Gary were along. Must pop over to the next one if you guys are there.

I wasn't there mate, last meet I was at was with you at Prime 4. If you saw another sprint Avant, there is another one that goes to those meets, think the car's from Ellon.

Ok well hopefully get something arranged and the weather's good!

I had this problem on my car 4 years ago and the only way I could fix it was to change everything.

And now, after 40,000 miles it is just showing signs of coming back!

Pedal not sticking down yet but it is getting slow to return after the engine has been taken to the redline a few times.

Going to change out the clutch pedal assembly and springs this time before I start changing out anything else.

Might try and make it along to your next meeting if I am home.

It's hard to believe a problem that occurs with so many owners doesn't have a definitive solution.

I am reluctant to throw money at any more parts until I have a clearer idea of what is going on.

Did you change the clutch as well?
If it gets really bad I'll start changing the cheapest/easiest things first.

I had the following changed out:

Upgraded return line by Audi as part of a recall - no difference, pedal sticks halfway down during hard use.

Master, slave, clutch, flywheel and release bearing all changed out at the same time - problem solved.

I am going to replace parts in the pedal box this time first as never changed anything there last time. My clutch pedal does sit slightly higher than the brake pedal with maybe half an inch of dead play at the start of the travel.
