Just replaced a full set of Coils - Genuine Bosch, checked the plugs and all fine no deposits or abnormalities.
Mine was running original coils according to Audi so slapped a full set on just to be sure :bigblink:
Got a new coolant sensor ready to fit in the morning, but its in a tricky location at the back of the engine eeeekkkk :bash:

f@tboyf@t who has a similar issue has got me thinking its a software problem which could be solved with SW0090 :?:
I'm not sure what version's on mine, i had a quick look last time i had the VCDS plugged in but couldn't find anything anywhere.
Going back to the Remap i had, Awsome sent my ECU's to APR because they were accidentally locked so what version my ECU's are running is anyones guess.

After testing over the past few nights i find if i rev higher than the standard cold start to 2000rpm the car struggles/splutters through then once the condensation is gone runs fine even though the guage is still showing cold @ 50deg.
The guys at work say "its running way to rich you can smell it" - but after reading plenty of forums they all run rich and smell quite toxic on cold start isnt it part of the cat warm up process ?????????
Gone but not forgotten boohoo !!!

I wouldnt be to worried about this - mine does the same (sensitive throttle, condensation, hesitant), once warm it goes like a bat out of hell :)

And as Doug has pointed out this is quite normal
Current: MK7 Golf R, Lapiz Blue 5 dr
Gone and missed: 2006 Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant. Non res valved Milly.
Gone: B6 S4. Noggy BLue. AMD Stage 3 (Milteck Res, Sports Cats, AMD Chip, Piper Cross Air Filter) ECS Drilled/Slotted Rotors, EBC Red Stuff Pads.

Still really annoying on a car which somewhere North of £50k? :bash:

If you could find a solution wouldn't you prefer to have a car which ran perfectly at all regimes?

The fast-idle for 30-40 seconds certainly improves the drive in the first few miles.

Overall fuel consumptions seems to have improved on the DIS certainly since I have been using this start-up procedure.

Give it a go.

Living in The West Country, I'm fortunate enough to be able to access some fine driving roads, even on my 13 mile commute.
Shall we say, that the performance on this car is tested on a day & daily basis, without incriminating myself.

I don't think that is the problem.

Looks like I'll be asking Yeovil Audi for the SW 0090 flash ecu update, as my own & ROY'S findings having shown that this fast idle start-up definitely helps.

Accelerator very sensitive

Well just fitted a full set of Coils yesterday and its made a big difference.
Jury's still out on the cold start which seems to be ok but still testing.
Accelerator is still sensitive but the car now responds better with less hesitancy or surging.
Engine idles and runs far smother its like a bloody sewing machine now.
Pops and crackling from the exhaust have lessened, still there but nowhere like it was.

It's still early days yet but - touch wood
It's looking good
Gonna test until weekend then change the temp sensor

We checked all the old coil packs today and they are all identical do looks like the are the originals.
So are the coil packs providing a weak spark or what ???
Gone but not forgotten boohoo !!!
