Leaking Seat Valves
Re: Leaking Seat Valves
Looks pretty basic - I'm guessing the leak is from the black circular rubber grommets?

Not sure, the rubber grommets seems a good fit.adsgreen wrote:Looks pretty basic - I'm guessing the leak is from the black circular rubber grommets?

Re: Leaking Seat Valves
Hmm - looking at it I can't see anywhere else that would wear quite so bad.
My guess is that the solenoids pop in/out when activated and expose the hole to vent the air. The seal would have to be pretty damn tight for it to hold the pressure.
There's a thread I found for the S6 where the later solenoids had a much beefed up rubber seal - almost three times the size!

Re: Leaking Seat Valves
I suspect the orange, rubber/polyurethane washer is the most likely culprit.
Over time these will "dent" as per your photo and with age will start to seep/weep air.

Re: Leaking Seat Valves
I had the same issues with my seat and was able to repair it using a spare part from eBay.
The part was originally from an Opel Recaro seat but it did work out well, because the part of the solenoid which was defect was only the top of the housing, which holds the three connectors. It had a hair thin crack in it, almost unnoticable. I tried to repair it with some glue first, but that was not satisfactory.
Anyway, I just thought I might share this, in case someone else wants to go this route.
