Plasti-dip done on the front and rear optics. Took longer to mask then I thought it would

Did 4 coats of the stuff on both.

The back didn’t come out as well as I hoped and the front is pretty good for my first attempt at it.

The handy thing is....I can try again very easily.

Sorry for the crap pic’s, it was 12 bells when I finished it!

Nice work.
Will be something I'm thinking of doing if I get the wheels done a dark grey.

So with further inspection (well kind of obvious when near) the back trim has frayed lines where it joins the bumper and there is one point on the front where the silver can be seen, but doesn’t stick out. Ill take more pics of the bad parts.

To be honest, I think it’s not that bad and I will leave this as a test case for a few washes and then tackle the rest of the optics and wing mirrors.

Finally I plan on doing the alloys too... just need a bit more practice and take more time on the prep work to ensure clean edges.

Cost of optics wrapped was €200 and alloys powder coated €500(approx.) while this is just some prep work and a few cans of plasti-dip. Each can cost €18 and I only used half a can on these two parts of the optics and been advised that one can would cover all the optics and three cans for the alloys. The massive advantage is that you can just peel it off so it shouldn’t offend anyone at resale.

I think you can touch up the plasti-dip by spraying a bit into the aerosol lid and then applying with a really small art brush, doing it in layers.

Does the grill surround come without taking the bumper off?
