Not a full review as such, but I've been in touch with Southampton Audi's service manager this week by email, passing on to him my long boring saga to date with the warped discs. He's replied a few times, and has shown my email to one of the techs there whose comments were then passed back to me.
I've decided not to put the car in for diagnosis as it was going to be quite expensive, but just wanted to report he was very professional and polite at all times.

I asked if he knew about the SW0090 update, the answer was no, though he did say that it might have been applied to a car without his knowledge as they have 20 techs working in there.
I had a bad experience there in 2001 with my S2, so it's good to have something positive to say about the place now.
He has at least one RS tech there apparently.

That's surprising - Portsmouth Audi and Southampton Audi are both part of the Harwoods Group (and even shame a common R8 demonstrator) - and Portsmouth Audi did my Sw0090 update...

When i asked Ayr Audi about this SW0090 they looked up any service campaigns against my reg - of course it didnt come up so i think you have to go in there with the symptoms described on other posts to assist them in diagnosing and finding the solution in their database.
Anyone know how to post a sound clip as i would like opinions on (as i call it) the "putt putt" noise that is coming from my car cold and warm engine temp - i think it is symptomatic and can be resolved with the sw0090 fix. Know how to post photos on photobucket and share here but not .mp3?

I had a very frank chat with the service manager at Glasgow about this recently, so this could change in the near future.

Anybody care to share any more of their dealer experiences with us...........?

(A) Car RS4/ 06 / 20k
(B) Dealer Ayr Audi, (West coast of scotland)
(C) Car issue(s) Coil pack recall, exhaust note investigation
(D) Total time required for repairs 1 day (but left car with them for the week due to work)
(E) Very pleasant to deal with answered all my questions and the tech made himself available so i could show him my concerns. Was able to get a booking at short notice with a collect and delivery service (at glasgow you would have to wait 2 weeks). Came to my senses shortly after and took the car in myself.
They apparently have a lot of RS4's in for various reasons some i dare not mention (cleaning involved). Smaller dealership with Glasgow Audi being only 40 minutes away limits their customer base but on my experience 100% better and more of a personal approach. you can tell they value your custom. I drive 40minutes to use them rater than 5 minutes to Glasgow Audi.
(F) overall rating of the dealer (1-10) 9
(G) issue(s) fully solved? (Y/N) Y coil packs replaced and no problem with my exhaust note.
(H) would you recommend/return? (Y/N) Y absolutely
