1) A dealer who knows what they're talking about.
2) Any of us that have 0090 on our car and have VCDS - a VCDS log shows the SW version on it. Mine clearly says SW 0090.

Fair point, the more VCDS logs the better so if you can email them to ac012c2979 AT blueyonder.co.uk that would be much appreciated

Life with SW0090 and a full Milltek exhausts i starting to become a bit of a pain, I wish I had my old SW, granted it remedied the initial problems, but it is very loud on cold start up, the curtain twitches come out in the street when I start her up.

The OP mentioned Tetbury Audi as the initial contact for this, I see they haven't improved since I last dealt with them despite having a fancy new showroom.

All style and no substance, business as usual then.

Is it possible the upgrade has overwritten the remap ?

Yes, the SW updates will overwrite any remaps. When I had mine done I had the MRC remap uploaded a few days after.

I love the sound, but there's times when one wants to be discreet

Imagine what my neighbours think when I start a big bore ZX12R up in the morning with a full Ti Force race exhaust?

Good job one of my neighbours is a petrolhead too because he says it makes his garage rattle.

I found out at the weekend that my car is running the SW0030 software. According to an earlier post it seems this is a de-restricted version.

My car has recently been serviced by my local Audi dealership so I was surprised it is running such an old version. I have two questions:-

Would they have left it alone as it is the de-restricted version or were they just being slack?

Should I be asking for it to be upgraded to SW0080 as this seems to be the current standard?

Thanks

Nor sure what you mean by de-restricted - can you elaborate?

Cars were originally shipped with 0030. There was a 0050 update (which might have been original on the last few made) but all should have then been updated to 0080 as part of a service campaign

0090 has a faster idle on startup, but is not an automatic update, and only given on request (e.g. if you comment on lumpy running when cold)

I'd go back to the dealer and ask why they didn't at least upgrade you to 0080

I like that fact its abit boomy on startup... I think the car overall runs noticeably better with 0090, especially when the weather gets colder
