Will the B7 RS4 become a classic?

Agreed, playstation generation are more likely to go for Nisaan R35 GT-R than RS4, M3 or C63.

Not sure, some small people told me a few weeks back that my car is 'wicked' on Forza 3? lol

Just check cars dot com, and see how many are for sale in entire US, let's skip Cabrio, 14 ! - that's not whole a lot, and some of them are with Tons of miles on them. If you compare to lets say e36 m3 or even e46 m3 , any car in that era or 996 Turbo. Maybe not become Classic but nice to have one, for non audi people it's just another audi on the road, only true car people can spot them. I like to drive and see something rare on the road.

Yes, it will become a cult classic.
I don’t think there’s any point in comparing the car to others; the key is to analyze it on its own merits. Fantastic engine developed for the R8, great six speed manual transmission, surprisingly good handling for such a nose-heavy car... Audi really threw everything they had at its development and it shows (particularly in the handling department). Even though turbo motors are objectively better in so many ways, they cannot match the thrill of such a smooth race to 8300 RPM. It’s a true German muscle car, with a great interior, gorgeous fender flares and more charisma than any other Audi sedan I’ve driven.

I love it because it’s such a great sleeper car... until I open the valves on my Capristo exhaust, and then it sonically transforms into an old IMSA racer. While not necessarily the best in one particular department, it really is one of the best reasonably priced all-around driving machines made in the past decade.

I think it already is - but then I'm still running mine after taking delivery 12 years ago this Sunday so partiality is not my strong suit!

Also depends on your definition of a classic. Agree the B7 is already a classic in some aspects, but some people just mean an old car. Maybe another measure is when prices increase, over taking the as-new price.

Funny reading this thread from the start. £10k for an RS2 anybody? Cheapest I could find was £30k now, one at £75k ffs!

I just look back to top gear when clarkson raced the mountain climber up the mountain and back down. I was sold,i was a apprentice bricklayer earning £150 per week with a newborn and lived in a council house. I remember telling her we will have one of them baby xx. Took a long time to get one i must say and a long time to afford the maintance and running cost of one. 12 years and it was the only car i ever got exited to see. To me the car is a classic, from the beeps of outher audi rs4 and rs6 drivers in newer more capable models but the appreciation they show when they see it. Even when the 1.1 corsa revs up at the light and wheel spins away and you let him win. The smiles of passers by when they see you in the car on there daily commute on foot to work, whispering RS4 as they look at you. Done well this year new build house to keep the Wife happy and got a Rs4, its a classic to me and cant wait to hit 200k on the clock and still be running like new and people like wow that car is like 20+years old and its a V8. Just hope there is still fuel then
