P_G wrote:I had thought about that sonny. If we get the early chunnel, say 6.50, then you make it to Calais for 8.30 approx. That gives 4.5 hours to get to the Ring. Have some lunch, a couple of laps, bit of a rest then set off say 4/5pm and get to Ingostadt before 9pm. Plenty of time to relax, sink some beers and get some sleep before the factory tour next morning which in itself will be a rest. If we do have any faults, whet better place to have them checked out than Audi HQ!

Also, if the Ring was done on the last day we would run the same number of miles on the last day as proposed on the first with the bypass through Germany. I thought the last day to take it easy would perhaps be best.
Sorry I forgot to add, that the Ring calender if it was like this years, for weekday evenings between 1700-1900 is open to tourists only, so may have to take that into consideration. However yes that does sound like a good plan.

depends on funds.

its my 40th next year so wouldnt mind doing something spectacular.

failing this take the Ur quattro to Ingolstadt for the 30th anniversary instead.

later in the year the better for me!!

could you give me a guestimate to costs please?

I'm guestimating at 100 Euros per night accommodation, 8-9 tanks of fuel and fuel for myself in the guise of meals and beer plus Ring and border tolls. Not sure how much a trip round Ingostadt would be of anything? Eurotunnel is £90 return at present

So around GBP £800 plus petrol plus speeding fines?

Sounds brilliant - I'm very interested, but can't commit until dates are fixed (and even then might have to wait a while before confirming)

Happy to add my name to the list, but don't want to take someone's place who can confirm right now

You’ll have to take some good photos for us that aren’t lucky enough to go.

It sounds like an amazing trip but there is no way I could get this one past the ‘Leg Iron’.

I hope you all have a blast.

Until such tomes as we can verify Ring times and Stelvio opening times, I'm looking at the last week in May or one of the first two weeks in June. The latter from what has been suggested to me may be a safer bet weather wise and for the Stelvio pass being open. For those who want to go, when would be better; last week in may, 1st week in June or 2nd week in June?

Likewise, my 40th next year to0 & i'm well up for this trip so please add me on. May is looking fairly OK.

Would likely not get away alone (if you know what i mean) as the brake wants to take some Ring laps & is dying to visit the Italian Lakes so may have to factor that in.

Also i'd rather limit daily miles to no more than 300 as that 1st day of 600 (plus i'd be driving down from the North West) is a big day & don't forget the Mainland also suffers traffic congestion. I'd stretch it out by a day or 2 to ease the stress a little.

Open for B5 RS4's, are too scared of the competition :boots: ?!

Would love to do it, but a) my son's birthday 1st week of June; b) Le Mans is usually 2nd weekend of June; c) currently facing redundancy so may not even have an RS4 ( :piss: )...

Would agree, believe the 1st day of 600miles + 'Ring-time would be a nightmare. Would suggest the first leg + Ring time, and a cosy nap somewhere, and do the 2nd leg of 300 miles bright eyed and bushy tailed, the following morning...
