Looks like this is not going to work unless I find a 2nd hand complete wheel

Reason for this is, that Audi DO sell the trim, but only the lower "T" section where the RS4 logo is. The upper circular section which houses the switches, is only sold with the wheel itself.

Obviously ideally we'd want to do the whole set, and not only the lower section

So for the time being this is on the back burner whilst I find a donor wheel!

Looks like an R8 wheel to me - which is an MFSW & means you would also have to swap the wiper stalk (to get the trip computer buttons back) and add a Sport button on the dash (since it doesn't have that either), and then recode the SCSM.

Surely the metal pate where the MFSW buttons are is interchangeable with the RS4 button layout as they fit the same section of wheel thus you wouldn't need to recode or reposition the sport button?

That would be great if it's true - I hope it is...

Somehow I think an R8 wheel would be more expensive than carbon fibre replacement parts for an existing RS4 wheel though.

I agree but perhaps an alternative as it is a slightly different look.

R8 wheel looks awesome, but would have been better if the carbon join was to the rear on the inside.
