That's why Recaros were a no-cost option, so that it became suitable as a daily driver even if you found the buckets uncomfortable and/or impractical.tonyoverdrive wrote:And the seats are not great for me, I drive around 1000 miles a week but i couldnt do it with the RS4 buckets, just W/ends for that.
Potential RS4 purchase need to be convinced!!

Remind anyone of our Russian friend??tonyoverdrive wrote:no im not kidding..I wouldnt fancy trying to beat my wifes Mk5 R32 dsg at the lights for money....?(even with her driving) yea it will overtake eventually but its not that much quicker.. Otherwise its ok but not the best or worst car i have had...Do you think it really feels like 415 HP cuz i dont and i have had loads of suff inc: 911s, 997, viper, bla, bla, bla, etc etc and some of them should be a similar power to weight ratio but felt much quicker..im just not convinced.

With a 0-60 as low as 4.2 for the RS4 and 5.8(?) for the DSG R32, the cars are in a different league surely?
But I have to admit, even doing 4.6, my RS4 doesn't feel particularly fast...

i have had a mk4 r32 and drove many mk5s and they feel very slow especially the dsg cars. The power is so linear that you get no apprecition of speed. Very very dull to drive and the mk 4 was loads more fun. The RS4 however is in a different universe to drive. Can only assume that laddo who posted has a dud car.SR71 wrote:With a 0-60 as low as 4.2 for the RS4 and 5.8(?) for the DSG R32, the cars are in a different league surely?

Just got back to Dublin, looks like the car is sold, i'll have to find out tomorrow for sure.
Pretty gutted as I have someone interested in my R32 tomorrow and if the numbers were right I had hoped to be in that RS4 within a week
I'll keep looking but I doubt I'll find one with the red leather

MANUAL R32 6.5 TO 60. DSG R32 6.2 TO SIXTY. FACT!
I have had both, and there is NO way they are quick as the AUDI.I agree with you ARSEY about the linear thing though.I like R32S dont get me wrong i love all VAG group cars, but the 32 isnt that quick standard.Iwas regulary kept up with and beaten in lesser cars. The R32 is heavy and the power to weight ratio is crap.247bhp only!!! Edtioion 30 GTIS blow it away.
Get a good get away in the RS4 and the Golf is history.
What a lot of people forget is after driving a turbo car where you get a kick up the arse from the turbo making it "feel" faster, naturally aspirted is more linear so sometimes doesent feel that quick.
