Very happy with the results ! initialy 394HP and 430 of torque. Sedan RS4 10000km unleaded fuel 98. Would have about 8HP more with shell V power 100

t urbo: do you have a special full exhaust system ?

Interesting that mine was slightly under your power output and was on 95 Ron and JD's was slightly higher than yours on 100 Ron.
If all three engines were run on the exact same fuel i think the before and after figures would be almost the same for all three cars, which will at least prove the B7 engine's are producing the same power straight from the factory.

There is another RS246 member having the JD Remap this week, it will be interesting to see if his outputs are similar to the rest.

I have the std exhaust.

I have done over 30 standing starts measuring times and stuff and its still hanging in there.

They will set the limiter to any speed you want. Mines set at just over 200 mph.
OK fair one, whats the top end like after the remap?

I'm considering going down this route my self, BTW is there any need to remove the vacuum hoses for the valves in the back boxes?
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

t urbo: how many km with your car ?

JD's told me about a 10-15hp difference between 0 and 20000km.

Temperature of engine is also very important. As i have an new version of hard/software (letter D), he spent about 4 hours reprograming everything. So the car was not as warn as it should be (in normal condition, first test of power, remaping 1-2 hours, then a new test). And here are my first figures after remaping:

Image

The second test (418HP..) was not either representative, because the engine was this time warmer than standard condition.

I imagine the real power of my car in JD's standard condition of test is about 425HP and a torque of 460 (witch is the highest ever seen there, on the 50 RS4 he remaped)

So great, but the problem is that i have a KN filter (according to JD, about 3HP more) and a MTM FULL exhaust system (sport cats+downpipes)

So, was my car very slow or MTM exhaust unusefull to gain power ? MTM speaks about an 30HP extra more power...JD says all sport full exhaust system only gives 10HP.

Your car is about 410HP. 98 fuel would have given 418HP. A sport exhaust system with special air filter, about 430 HP. So either your RS4 is very powerfull, either you get more than 25000km...

Other thing, do you remember this car ?

Ritchy, do you have the corresponding graphs to the ones you've posted with power at the wheels? Not doubting JDE's expertise here but we all now know too well how easy it is to quote great figures when the original at the wheel measurements may not have been quite as impressive. Also, what kind on dyno is the superflow windyn, a hub dyno or ala dyno dynamics dyno?

that made me laugh, why not just remove the limiter entirely as the car will max out at, what, 180?

Adam: impossible to remove the limiter, you can only set it to an other speed. Mine is 320km/h.

RS4some: suspension is KW V3. The 20' rims are an option only available on A8/S8. For the RS4, you need a 20mm spacer. JD's are 25mm.

alex: i don't have any other graph. Just remerber having seen about 333HP on the wheels before remaping.

Ritchy,

Mine had around 9-10000km when i had the remap. Im at 15 k now.

I have had the car up to about 180 ish mph, after that it starts to slow and you need plenty of road.

JD's car is it not.

SJ-RS4,

Not managed a top end yet but im sure you will see over 185 mph (even in std trim)

With the remap you dont need to touch the exhaust flaps, they are reprogrammed to stay open all the time when the sport button is on.

Adam,

Like Ritchy said the limiter has to be set at a set speed.

I think in std trim you will see 185 mph.

You may gain an extra 1 or so mph with the remap but as you probably know just because you are running an extra 20 or so HP does not mean you will gain the same in top speed.

t_urbo,

What other functionality does Vagcom allow you to measure?

I'm thinking of getting a GTech Pro RR for a bit of a laugh and doing some timing.

Anyone else got one of these?

Mine with a remap does 187 mph (GPS) and just over 190 on the speedo. It's on youtube.

Vag-Com measures any speed set by the user ie 0-100 or 10-150 etc etc and it measures the Tq of the engine, but this will only be approximate.

Vag-Com is more useful if you want to alter settings on the car and if your interested in MAF,Temps,Timing etc.

The GTech Pro RR was raved about on 6speed.com a while back.

If it helps with the price $299.00 i will have one.
