That's all it was then, narrower tyres than normal fitment. :bigblink:

Next time you're due to change tyres (if not before) I'd recommend slapping some 255/35/19's on there - these are the recommended size for the B7.

At 235, you'll get a bit less contact area, less rim protection, slightly more wheel gap (smaller side wall), and the speedo will be off by 2%.
Also you've lowered the bottom of the car, it is 7mm closer to the ground than with standard size tyres but you've increased the tyre to arch gap by 7mm. Maybe that's why people are saying to lower it. But you are right lowering with this size tyre will give you ground clearance problems. The right size tyre and a slight drop would leave you no closer to the ground than you are now but would close the gap between the tyre and wheel arch. Also the right profile would make it a softer ride to offset the minimal difference the adjustable springs would make.
I know you said you don't want to lower it but this does away with both issues you mentioned (ride quality and ground clearance) but still improves the look.
The KW adjustable spring kit is really very good, it wont compromise ride quality. I have it with 20" wheels and 30 profile tyres and it is not harsh at all.

Got the tyre size wrong sorry, they are the standard 255 35 19. I really don't want to lower this car, it is my daily driver and its a lovely car, I already have a toy that is so low it predicts where I'm allowed to go !!

Well if you like it, fundamentally that's all that matters.

But as others have said, it need lowering and spacing (to me).

Fair point, my last couple of sentences were not direct but I did say on a side note......

If you could, please tell the owner of the said bike his stem is so wrong it really is laughable. The reason I commented on it is because it ruins what is an otherwise decent bike.

Stem length has a massive effect on how a mountain bike handles. The setup on the bike in the pictures will put the riders weight too far forward over the front wheel. It will also making the steering so slow that taking a tight corner at speed will take a weeks written notice.

Whoever fitted that stem probably did so because the top tube length of the frame is too short for them.

I do however quite like the black 911, whoever owns that.

Bikes - My pet subject along with cars, I fitted the stem, its a 100mm stem, common in fact, it will have no bearing on the bikes handling or Geo, if the Suss is set to the riders weight. Its a stubbie stem (70mm or less that look wrong and are for DH bikes only for a closed cockpitt. The Intense Carbine is an all mountain bike, or Do all bike, and it was a perfect build.

The 911 is my toy !!
