Finally got the KW v3's fitted :)
Re: Finally got the KW v3's fitted :)
Do you know how to string a car? (Smart strings).
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

No I didn't but I've just looked it up. Very interesting and useful to know!

4 axle stands, 2 long rods wider than length of car and 2 plum lines.
Cut notches in rods at same distance and let the plum lines self tension.
Measurement from the centre of the wheel/hub must be same distance on each axle to the milimeter.
Then measure from the front and back of the wheel, the difference in millimetres will give the toe in/out reference.
You will need to know the formulae when calculating mm/minutes for a 19" rim.
The rims must be 100% true and not buckled.
For camber you can use a steel ruler and spirit level up right and measure the distance from the top of the rim to spirit level. Again you need the formulae to calculate height from floor to top of rim - wheel diameter then the distance as mentioned from rim To top of spirit level. This will give degrees. Personally i dont like using the plum line from car to measure camber as this will be "off" if the car is corner weighted or different ride heights selected.
I will get the calculation this evening.
I string my clio prior to every race meet and use a digital camber gauge.
Sorry OP kind of gone of topic
