I too wanted a JHM system but as Neil has said getting them into the country is prohibitively expensive due to import tax/courier costs, so much so that a UK fabricated system by a specialist is the only viable solution [unless you don't care about costs or you want to go 'off the shelf']
I recall having a conversation with Doug @ MRC about exhausts when he did my stage 2. The man said "cat back exhausts on the RS4 are all about what noise you want and there are very little power gains to be had, all the power gains are in the downpipes and the removal of the 400CEL precats" - Personally I think that makes sense.
As Kev mentions, power gains are all about the 400 CEL precats - after that, bar 100 CEL race cats, there's no mystery or magic in the system to scavenge another heap of BHP. Doug at MRC also mentioned to me that the Audi 200 CEL cats are actually not bad. After this it's sound and quality of manufacture...
yer delivery and duty is a killer, it is a large box!.
but i still dont think its crazy priced. a full milltek with sport downpipes is about £2300-£2400. JHM's is £1835 for the full system + delivery £300-£400 and duty say another £500, £2735 in the uk or there abouts. £335 dearer than the milltek.
i agree the vast bulk of the gains come from cat removal, just stabbing out your pre cats on a standard exhaust will give you the same gains as 95% of the aftermarket exhausts out there for the rs4.
i agree there is no mystery and magic in the system to scavenge another heap of bhp, but there is engineering, gas flow modeling and testing ect, to eek out them last few ponies.
as saki said in the capristo thread its easy to make the rs4 sound great because rs4's sound great.
it is a lot harder to make an rs4 go quicker..........
